I must confess to have slagged on this quite a bit having played it only the once,I'm just not a lover of DMC style in any sense and Gaiden has always provided a superior depth combat wise
How very ignorant of me i must say.I've played the demo probably around 50 times and this game represents an enormous turning point for the genre
It murders both Gaiden and laughs at Gow, Dante, DMC
The over the top Japanese trash that was my first thought is completely missing the point as Bayonetta plays quite unlike anything i have ever played and requires you cast aside any such silly issues here
The combat design is an astonishing achievement and gets better and better with each play and and this is just the demo
I'm quite staggered by this game and it has restored my faith in an industry that was feeling rather stale of late - especially this genre
Awesome game and i advise any fence sitters to try harder in understanding just why this game is recieving so much buzz
NG black is still the ultimate third person action game but Bayonetta is okay too ;)
Even though the demo does get better with each palythrough but i'm taking it easy, i don't want to spoil the final game and it's just a few weeks until it hits so...yeah :)
NG is always going to be the best to some and it's challenge is likely what that appeal is.We don't actually know how hard this ramps up to in difficulty setting and of course the challenge is always to go back and beat your own personal best - and unless that's perfect, we wont have done that
If we're talking about a superior combat system though i'd defintely have to with Bayonetta
Personally i'm more into the general theme of Gaiden but actual gameplay of Bayonetta is deeply more rewarding
Did you guys know that it gets a early relesae in Europe? I got mine form Sega here in Germany today. Dont know if they need money or just a clever move because who the Hell needs Bayonetta AND Darksiders in the same week ? Not sure about Uk they still have it on 8th january.

Yeah Bayonetta is gameplaywise the best thing i EVER played. Challengewise i would give it a 6/10 BUT if you really want everything you might need about 7 to 8 playtroughs.
BTW demo shows nothing of Bayonetta it is sooo much better then the demo let you think.
Well actually yeah you keep everything you have ( ok the Alfheims are tough as hell) over the playtroughs.Had about 40 lollys of each full health and magic bar hehe. Even as witchtime is deactivated in this mode you get this evil rosary accessoir ( guess that was then name) that leaves an expolding energyball each successful evade. I loved to kill the Angels without even delivering a single blow by myself.And dont forget the Bazillions Laser guns yeah !!!

For me Bayonetta is far more than just a Game its standt so much over everything i ever played in this genre ( and i played everything...old man here 42 years ( no nerd 3 kids second wife) and even a sexlife)
Its a piece of pop art .
