Comes out at a bit of a crappy time (next gen will be knock knock knocking) but they won't say if they will do a PS4 port, which says to me they might. Hopefully they announce it before i recieve the PS3 version though.

To me it has that L.A Noire feel where the faces have astonishing detail and everything else looks a bit like a cardboard flip book.

I'm more for gameplay and less for looks when it comes to games though, and while it does look like an amazing interactive film, I sort of prefer more game with my game.

Cage has done a lot of clever tricks with the lighting but it feels as though I'll be watching more than playing.

Legends told of a troll in denial named alimokrane that would deny all the truth that came before him, but then came the savior antaros to tell him the truth that Jodi holmes is actually made up of more than 30k polygons and that she is the most detailed character model one has ever seen, AND IS RUNNING ON PS3. Suddendly alimokrane took his fanboy glasses off and said "Oh my dayum".

...
I read that visual designers do this because most humans spend time looking at faces during movies then the environment comes second ... in games we know that that isn't always the case - there are several games that fit this bill

Story could be decent. Definitely will give it a try at some point, but as @Tiz mentioned - there is no much gameplay there at all, so not paying full price.
Would be perfect if this was $20 game, similar to Telltale's Walking Dead.

This looks great to me. Definitely can tell they went low-res on stuff like textures to improve character detail and animations. I think it paid off.

It looks interesting enough for me to give it a chance, but won't buy it for full price, because of the same reasons already mentioned by Tiz & Seth.

It seems more of an interactive movie, and David Cage is known for driving the story through emotions so I suppose backgrounds take a little bit of a back seat.

Based on that 35 mins of "gameplay", I guess I'll watch it on youtube when it launches seeing as it seems I'll hardly be missing anything by doing so.

Edit - that was actually in reply to deafwing.

I'm happy it looks like more heavy rain. They kept saying it wasn't, but the gameplay clearly shows that it is. Heavy rain was my GOTY in 2009. So i'm excited for this, possibly more so then last of us. Heavy rain was one of the most intense games i've played, which was kinda weird given the style of gameplay it has. I reckon it'll be awesome though. In cage i trust...lol.

OMG...Sony is kicking some serious ass this year! The Last of Us and Beyond Two Souls just looks lightyears better than all the games scheduled for release this year! Now as for our dear PC fanboys and fangirls here....really? This looks "bland" and "low-res" to you? I mean....really?

They spend too much effort in production values. These days games have 20$ DLC alone.

Trailer is amazing, not going to watch any videos though.

Actually, in the 35 min footage, it looks like the player has less control than in Heavy Rain, a great game that I loved. I hope this isn't the case in the full game, because I don't want to watch cutscenes the whole time.
The game has less visible promps, but you still have direct control when it comes to movement, and you still have to press buttons to fight etc, they just dont show buttons on screen to do so.

This is a good example of how to bring more people into games. Most people simply cannot play games. So motion or control free or touch games are simple enough to have fun. Games like this can allow girls, dads and pretty much anyone who are not into gaming.

Looks quite boring as a game, and not that visually impressive considering most of the environments are controlled and not free roaming. I mean, why pay 60 dollars for this when I can just watch the whole thing on Youtube and get the same effect?

I do look forward to The Last of Us though. May not look quite as good but at least it's free roaming and interactive where I have complete control of my character and actions.

This is not the kind of game that I want pulling females into gaming. I mean, for someone who does love and know how to game, why would they want to play a game with a non gamer that is for non gamers? I'd rather them just stay away from games then.

My xgf had never played games, not even console games, and she first learned how to game on a keyboard and mouse (WoW). I was afraid to teach her and thought it would be a waste of time but she caught on real fast and actually prefers a keyboard and mouse over a controller. Now that's the kind of woman I want playing video games! She still games with me.
