Trailer PC Xbox 360 PS3

EA and DICE released today two new videos of Battlefield: Bad Company 2 that will be available next week. The first one is a new multiplayer trailer interrupted by quotes from press and sites which reviewed the game, and the second is the TV spot, quite rythmed.

I'm still not convinced by this game yet. It looks pretty in the single player, but judging the demo that was released, I noticed that the game's framerate looks horrible. I usually don't notice things like that, but after playing Modernwarfare 2, which I believe plays at 60 fps, it was hard not to notice the multiplayer demo. I can't believe how many people actually liked the demo. Did I download the right demo? The single player looks unbelieveable, but imo the mutltiplayer portion pales in comparison to Modernwarfare 2.

your kidding right?, After playing the demo and then going back to mw2, its liuke going back playing a kiddies game, this game blows it out of the water in every department, the frame rate is fine it might not be 60fps because the maps are like 10-100 times bigger and a LOT more going on, you go back to your kiddies game and I will stay with bc2 a far richer and more rewarding experience.

Tried the demo, hated it. If I'd to play another MP game it'd be either Halo: Reach, or back to COD4.

This game's controls just feel so...I don't know, like shit...

Well, the PC version rocks, though clearly performance is an issue on pretty much every platform. I think the game rules. Day one!

Different strokes, and all that. Though I do love me some COD4 still too! At least you're picking the good one!

Have you played with the control settings? Standard sensitivity is way too low, you need a few secs just to turn full circle. The demo wasn't that good due to its limitations, I expect nothing less than the best MP game since CoD4, though.

As a Halo Vet and more recently MW (MP) fan, does anybody think this'll be worth picking up for me? I tried the demo of the first one (bad company, that is), and the shooting mechanic just didn't feel right at all (light, and 'not there' if you know what I mean). Plus I got completely destroyed in the couple of minutes of MP I played. :/

Think I should rent it?

Thats what i did as well and it removed the "weightyness" I had a problem with from the beginning.
But i increased it quite alot to make it faster and surprisingly it worked perfectly (did the same with KZ2) and now I love it.

I still don't see this as much of a step up from the first Bad Company. It's a nice change from the frustration that is MW2 but it's still got plenty of flaws in my opinion.

I'm gonna buy it day one, but I still think the gunplay is pretty lame compared to a lot of other shooters and the damage system is quirky at best. That said, it's still a shooter w/ lots of vehicles and the chance for great teamwork (which can often be a problem with the design).

It's just one of those games that can really suck or be really fun depending more on who you play with rather than how well you play the game. In the right squad it's a blast, in the wrong squad it's a frustrating mess that feels like nothing close to a fun experience.

If they could make the gunplay more exciting that alone would make this game feel much better. They also have a very broken reward system. Kills are worth far, far too much and objectives are worth far too little points. IMO a medic reviving a fallen teammate shoudl be worth a great deal more than a kill.

While I have also become tired of MW2 I have to agree that the demo for this game was lacklustre, especially visually. The number of hits it took to kill was also really weak and annoying.

Using vehicles also felt more like a handicap and not really empowering at all and I was left with the overriding thought that "So this is what all the fuss is about?"
MW2 multi had too many things that pissed me off in the end but the core gameplay is solid. IW just fucked it up with shit like dual wield shotguns (or dual wield anything) and poorly balanced killstreaks. At least when you shoot someone the have the courtesy to die before you expend an entire magazine.

Has anyone else pre-oprdered on Steam?
I have in my games list 'Battlefield Bad Company 2 pre-order'. I also got 'Battlefield Bad Company 2 Beta'.

Surely these must turn into the proper title. i.e. you wouldn't have 'pre-order' in the games list post game release?

Also any ideas when pre-load might occur?

Yeah its just a token to tell you that your pre-order is there. Pretty sure it will change when the pre-load begins which should be tomorrow (guess)

The damage system was decreased for PC in comparison to console. One reason why I would only buy it for PC is if they released mod/sdk tools, which they probably won't for a year.
And the whole, 'let's rip gamers off.' locked content bullshit just makes it a silly renter.

Absolutely day one for me. totally addicted to the demo. to those complaining about the game controls, on the 360 the sensitivity is set super low by default like sath said. up it up to the max, and it plays much nicer and fast.

Have to agree with some that the gfx are a bit dull on the map on the demo, was playing a bit on the weekend with BC1 since the demo of 2 was over, and was stunned by the gfx!! so really looking forward to the the gfx of the new one, in the other maps.
