I'm pretty sure this will be the typical sequel when the developer didn't understand what made the original good in the 1st place. Will be more action (probably very standard action...) rather than more focus on the atmosphere, exploring and so on. I personally wanted/want BioShock 2 to be less action oriented than the first game...

I think you two need to go and play Bioshock1 again. This looks, visually, alot improved.

Though I have little interest in this sequel.

Ditto. Unfortunatelly devs dont give a shit about mature gamers needs, so we have no choice but to play those uninspiring games.

What's everyone going on about!?

Improved graphics? Bull. They may well have packed more crap on to the screen but look at the difference in art direction and style:

Personally I think the original looked better. Looks to me like they've done barely anything to improve the engine.

Yeah I may not have explained that as much as I wanted to.

It just doesn't have the simplicity and beauty of the original. Add to that what looks like bad lighting and some poor angles for screenshots and you have a very disappointed fan.

The only thing that looks good in these shots are the characters.

Bioshock is just NOT the type of game that needs a sequal. What made Bioshock so great was how unique it's theme and atmosphere were compared to most other games in the genre. the core gameplay wasn't that amazing, but it's atmosphere and attention to detial were just second to none at it's time. But another game in the same setting just can't have the same impact.

Exactly. Plus imo the core-gameplay was rubbish and the action-sections in Bioshock were horrible and almost unplayable due to sloppy controls. I just finished Bioshock, because of the awesome atmosphere.

I imagine a action-oriented Bioshock to be a pain in the face.

I hope this game fails. Don't like what they're doing to the series and it just looks bad overall. Thanks 2k Games, continue wasting good developers like Irrational and you'll soon be the next EA and Activision!

That chain gun on his arm just ruined what I thought this game was going to be. Goodbye to the story driven charm of the original I guess.
