Why is Ken Levine so impressed that the Handyman can pick up other dudes to throw at you?

That's like been in so many games, Resistance 3, Dark Sector who are all gorilla-types that can throw stuff at you.

This video and the previous Washington robot which is just a Heavy. Maybe I was expecting too much from the combat scenarios for this game.

This game is going to be awesome, but I reeeeally dont like the design of Handyman. Dont know why....those big hands look too cartoonish to me and doesnt fit the overall game mood. IMHO.

I don't know if I'd say he was that excited. He simply just states they can throw AI and that makes everyone scared when they're around. Never did he come across like he was presenting a new idea.

Looks nice, I just hope they dont give us another shitty aim/gunplay feedback, past Bioshock games sucked at it.

He can trow enemies!! Like the wartoks from Drakkan back in 1999!! :P

Don't get me wrong, Im very interested in this game and I never post any comment, specially if they are just complains but I wonder, how many of you are also tired of these hyping/selling smoke making off videos?

People bitching about developers/publishers promoting their products is becoming "the new thing" and seems so ridiculous to me.

He's talking about elements in the game that may or may not interest you and add to what the product is. If you're going to be a cynical entitled troll, then don't watch, don't care, don't get "hyped".

Anyone selling anything is going to speak to its attributes. They're not going to come out and say, "hey, it's got average shooter mechanics, a bitchin' setting and a stylized chick with a great rack. I hope, maybe, that you buy it, maybe kinda sorta." They're going to speak positively about their work. That's what you do when you're trying to sell it and that's what you do when you're proud of your work.

Moar enemy variety, please! I was bored to death shooting the same 3 types splicers halfway through previous games. -_-

I am sure this will be a fantastic, but I really feel that alot of games are not really bothering to introduce new mechanics or just really change things up. Even though I enjoy the basic shooting mechanic of a FPS, so often they just feel bland. I couldn't play Bioshock 2 because of this. It was just boring.

They need to get like a Japanese combat director or something, you know someone who just makes up dozens of enemies.

It's almost rare for a Western game to have much enemy variety.

Yep i agree. Loved the atmosphere on BioShock 1, it was quite unique game, but man it gets tedious after 4-5hrs in. There are not even proper bosses. :(

Have you seen the BioShock artbook? Many cool looking enemy concepts there. Sadly you can't see these things in the game.

Why are they choosing to make all the handymen to have the same head and body/clothes?

Why not use all those designs they came up with?

Ok, fair points but, Could you please read again my comment? I swear that I don't want to start an argument but, do you really have the impresion what I was bitching or trolling? I mean, I really like the concept of Bioshock Infinite as I said before, I really can't understand why you think I was trying to be cynical.

@ProfSebastian:

Besides reacting to a larger issue, I'm looking at the fact that you were essentially saying developers should stop promoting their products.

To me (your mileage may vary):
Hype is when a completely detached person starts spouting "what you want to hear" (or what they think you want to hear) to sell you something that you probably didn't want to begin with.

Promotion / Developer Diaries are the people actually making the product showing you what they've done, either because of pride and/or to get you excited about something you're already interested in.

The difference is subtle, but throwing everyone in the "they're evil and lying to me" bucket is unfair.

If I ever make a game and I'm doing a video that dares to mention some mechanic or setting that has been done before, I would hope that people wouldn't try to burn me at the stake.

Well it throws AI at you. AI is scared of the Handymen.

The whole thing that makes it so interesting and cool to me is the whole story behind the different types of characters. Indeed, HOW did that human guy land up inside of that metal suit. How can that thing function like it does?
Kevin Levine says you'll find out in the game. Man, so awesome.

I felt the chills when the original Bioshock game kind of explained about the Big Daddies and they wanted you to become one (in a way).

I really like these kinds of universe.
