Posted by Inflatable Where are the modtools and mapeditor?
They actually promise that?
Posted by Inflatable Ah, not released offcourse (despite promised).. Otherwise they can't rip gamers off for a few maps like this.. ;)
I think it's annoying how they price their map packs like this. I'd love to buy them but I don't think i'll play them enough to justify spending what... $45 for all the packs. I could buy a couple of second hand games for that price.
so far i have none of the map packs, and dont plan to buy this. shame, i am being denied good content cause of greed and fools who would pay whatever price no matter the value

Well in fairness alot of people play COD alot; They'd no doubt get value out of this DLC.
Best value I ever got out of a game was Counterstrike which was a free mod for Half-Life, same with CS:Source which came free with Half-Life 2.. I played those games for many years and thousands of hours, yet Valve kept supporting them for free, plus they had unrestricted online systems with dedicated servers everybody could host, modtools and people in the community could make their own maps etc.. Same with other older well known PC FPS gameseries like Quake and Unreal Tournament, they all had very good value with free mods and maps etc.. Modern FPS games from publishers like EA and Activision simply cannot compare.. All the restrictions and having to pay for almost everything took a lot of the fun out of online gaming.. I'm not blaming the consoles, but the downfall did happen when FPS took off on them and PC stopped being the #1 FPS platform..
Anyone who didn't experience the online FPS golden times on PC probably won't understand.. Maybe for the better as they will not feel as cynical as me about the current state of affairs with online FPS gaming and DLC etc.. Be happy!
I am a fan of COD although not so much Black Ops, it was my first Treyarch COD and I realized why many consider them to be the lesser, second string dev on the series (inferior engine, animations, AI, very glitchy etc). I do think the DLC is a bit steep but it's worth it if you are still playing MP, I tend to play the SP and dabble in some MP till it pisses me off too much...
Black Ops found it's way into the used games pile pretty fast.
they don't use a different engine, and I'd argue the only thing they have done which doesn't reach the levels of IW is level design, but even that isn't something to strive for.
Treyarch are plenty competent, they just haven't been handed a big project.
when you just make cash for EA, your personal profile suffers.

It's Activision they make cash for and I am pretty much certain they use a different engine, while the core is probably the same it clearly lacks in several areas that IW kept as "proprietary" (they consider themselves as in competition with Treyarch), trust me I am actually very good at observing that kind of nitpicking crap. It's a curse.
More importantly the AI was really noticeably poor by comparison and there were some awful hit detection glitches. In short I am going to skip the Treyarch efforts in future as "plenty competent" is not how I describe them. Poor man's COD developers would be more accurate although the sales don't reflect this, I attribute this in part to the number of people who will buy anything with zombies in it.

@Seth: Maybe you know what the point of the laser dot attatchment was? All it seemed to do was fuck up your aim and add a stupid amount of recoil. Was i missing something? (1 Hour ago)
Seth
You can use shootdodge even if your bullettime meter is empty! Reached ''bulletsponge'' enemies-they are cake if your aiming is decent. For guys with helmets two shots in the head are enough.:)) (1 Hour ago)
Seth
Forgot to say i use shootdodge a lot, diving all over the place. Maybe that's why i have a lot of fun with the game? Actually is much more dangerous to stay behind the cover in this game. (1 Hour ago)
