Fun demo by the way. Although a bit short.
The enemy character just stood there while (the player) reloaed the weaon while standing still and then meleed him. I hope that gets fixed in the final game. (probably wont buy this unless its BC
But the gameplay just sucks, stupid AI, godlike playerhealth and no proper FPS controls.. Not worth the 60 bucks.. That pretty much sums it up for me..
Still better than Killzone though! ;)

I was always a bit concerned when a company who've done mainly racing games (Redline Racers, Suzuki Motorbike, Burnout) seem so confident in making an FPS - the genre by far hardest hit by stagnation - based on what's basically the most GENERAL conceptions of what an FPS is like. It's clear that they had this idea of just grabbing any standard template FPS and adding crazy background interaction, and I always felt like once the novelty of exploding stuff wore off, it's just gonna be an insanely basic game that feels like something you played already back in 98. Hell, even most high profile FPS games these days do!
Looking at videos never tell you how satisfying an FPS is though. Just making the gun shoot by pressing down on a trigger means a lot and is something a video doesn't convey. This is where the game's only redemption lies in my opinion. If it's genuinely satisfying to actually fire those guns it's gonna be fun, and if it isn't it's not gonna be worth bothering with.
One thing is certain, though, if Criterion pull this off they're a force to be reckoned with. No matter how awesome the Burnout games are, it's not until you show that you can make different games and that you have an understanding of what makes games great that you get my outmost respect. That's why I really don't see why people throw their bras at Hideo Kojima whose only real effort is a 20 year old concept padded with cutscenes. It's a testament to the brilliance of the 20 year old game though, I suppose.
