Hudson has finally released some video footage of Bomberman Act Zero. Unfortunately, the trailer is quite bad compressed and is in really low quality.

I dont know how they expect anyone to play this game efficiently in the third person perspective. It would be one thing if engine showed everything on the screen at once, but it doesnt. I am glad it has the top down perspective as it could still be fun. Only time will tell though.

Holy progressively compressed interlacing Batman! You're right Manager.

Hudson should learn to either flag a video interlaced and release as a format that supports 60fps on decode, or deinterlace properly and encode progressive.

Or how about they progressively interlace in a different format which is more applicable to the codec at that resolution at 60fps as opposed to deinterlacing.

*I just said that so it would seem like I know what I'm talking about =P*

I'd rather sit on a bomb than play that. What a horrible looking bastardisation of a game that is loved for its simplicity.

Now that I think about it, I think the game will definitely succeed.

God it looks so depressing....

That seems to be a common theme nowadays, take nice fun retro games and turn them into grey deperssing dull affairs.

I use to love bomberman as a kid, from the looks of this i wont be touching it with a barge pole, bring on viva pinata!

they say in the beginning that classic bomberman gameplay is still available, and the other is close-combat. i mean i've seen screenshots on here where it's all overhead as well. i think the reason the health meter was introduced was specifically for the close-combat, which is actually kinda cool.

i don't think it'll be a major hit, but it could be a nice change for some people, and hey, if it fails you've always got classic mode, and they were talking about maybe bringing the 10-player saturn bomberman to just XBLA anyway.

i'm still excited for this, especially if it comes in at 29-39$, though i wish they gave you an option to play the original bomberman games, or at least something more colorful.
