Waiting for the full release to play this, but loved the two flatout games. They always had that great, weighty old-school feel to the cars, and the damage was always amazing.

The graphics here look really good as well. No one thing looks particularly amazing, but the lighting, color palette, vehicles, effects, and environments all come together to make a really great looking game. This time they have created the best vehicle damage system out there, and the handling looks just as fun. I've heard that all the destruction is actually dynamic now and not canned (including the trackside obstacles). Can't wait to pick this up for PS4 in a few months!

On a side note, does anyone know if the old PS3 logitec driving force racing wheel is compatible with PS4? That would be amazing with this game!

Still waiting on PS4 confirmation, game looks great but no PS4 version means i'd have to miss out. I do hope the flatout style "crash olympics" stuff returns though. Wouldn't be the same without it. A proper name would be nice too.

Just played both demos. It's fun, but still nothing totally unique as far as damage physics go. GTA and Burnout already has a similar soft body model on their cars, albeit a slightly toned down equivalent. It's the amount of objects and physics on all of them that impresses and makes it a riot to play, though.

I keep on thinking this is the next gen car destruction physics we've been waiting for since that tech demo at the dawn of the 360/PS3.

The XNA demo. No, it's not exactly there yet. That demo had the car break into shards that actually belonged to the original topology of the model itself. Here it's just faked with soft body deformation and a particle emitter that spits out little objects like nuts and bolts on impact that scatter around. Still looks just as good, but far from authentic looking yet.

Looks utterly fantastic. Hopefully the game they build around what they have will be a real winner. This is going to be a joy to follow.

The car damage is awesome & looks fun enough. But.. eh...

I guess I'll have to see how it all comes together.

I say go for it, you pay peanuts for multiplatform games on steam saving you lots of money in the medium to long term and you never have to worry about backwards compatibility.

But might I suggest holding on to your PS4, Sony's exclusive games are simply awesome. Uncharted 4, Last of us 2(I hope they do one), infamous, The Order etc etc

I'm having two minds about this game, It looks like fun but I don't want to pay full price. I think i'll add it to my wishlist on Steam and wait for a price drop.

FFXIV is just like its Final Fantasy franchise, where the endless grind is your destiny. Whatever you do in Eorzea, you will be needing tons of Final Fantasy Xiv Gil (http://www.ffxivingil.com/gil.html) to do it. Without ample FFXIV gil, you are increasing your chance of losing battles. Expensive gears, powerful weapons, and skills that can be obtained with just some extra FFXIV gil are going to be detrimental to your victory as adventurers in FF14. But we all know nobody wants to be grinding long hours endlessly when you can easily buy FFXIV gil from Koala Credits! With more FF14 gil at disposition, you know you can become THE gladiator or THE Thaumaturge of the zone thanks to shiny gears bought with FFXIV gil.
