Electronic Arts released this video finally explaining a bit more how the gameplay works in Burnout Paradise. I guess no one can say Criterion didn't go back to the drawing board in terms of game progression.
A lot of the promo trailers for the game just show the cars driving around. I think this is a mistake, the car crash physics in previous videos I've seen looked second to none. Why not show off your best assets?
That's right, what Burnout is about, is car crashing, but we are still waiting for some good videos about this. I remember Criterion bragging about how their new physic engine allowed cars destruction to be even more realistic... But I'm still waiting to see if it's really that good.
the whole free roaming thing is pretty lame IMO for a game like this. i loved the diversity among tracks in the previous versions, now every track looks like it may look the same.
i also hate in games when driving that I have to look at a mini-map in the corner every 5 seconds to see what the best route is to take (NFS:MW at some points, and in GTA type games).
i dunno, i'm not saying it's going to suck, just that i'm not going into this one w/any high expectations. burnout revenge is one of my favorite xbox360 games and it's a shame this series went in the free roaming direction.
yeah. They said that the cars can be crushed into 2 pieces during accidents but so far I haven't seen ANY video about this new crash feature (remember the CG pics where they show this car in many phases during a crash?). I think it was just promo blah blah.
