Today while I was at my local electronics store Burnout Revenge caught my eyes. While EA decided for some reason not to send it to me, I still really wanted to check this game out, in order to finally decide if it was worth the next gen sticker, or just a quick port. The demo did not make me a very strong impression, but after quite a few hours of play the complete game certainly convinced me. This 360 version if very spectacular, and can look either average (think Ridge Racer 6) or very very good, as you'll be able to see by yourself in this first video.

They are just publisher. Its not they did this game.
Like many other games that EA are published for.
(btw: I'm sorry for my English but it's late ^^)
But, if I already own this game for Xbox/PS2, I personally would not drop an extra $60 on the 360 version. That's about $110 for one game if you think about it.
Now, THE MOST IMPORTANT REASON for me to hate EA to death is for having killed the NFS series wich was great up to porsche unleashed, AND for buying exclusive licenses to car companies like BMW and Porsche, and sports like NFL.
I REALLY think Bizarre, Microsoft , Atari and many other companies could use WAAAAAAYYY better the car and sports licenses with games that arent lazy coded and mediocre like the ones EA have been publishing lately.
I HATE THEM!!!

Furthermore, madden 06 was made from the ground up on the 360 (EA here is the developer, not publisher).
Also, ports aren't a new concept. Nearly every multiconsole game is going to be a port.

Now, I didnt say why I didnt like ports, and thats because they have the guts to charge 10 bucks more for them. Then why dont they charge more for the Xbox version than the PS2? After all, the Xbox gets a little bit more detail.
I wont buy any of those games until they are 19.99 on the discount basket, lol.
dime con quien andas,
y te dire quien eres
basically, you get s#it stains from them :D
i dont want in my collection of games, boxes that have the EA logo in them or the EA logo when i fire up the game. >_<
Burnout Revenge is hands down the best racing game released so far on the 360. While they are difficult to compare, it is overall way better than PGR3, not in graphics, but in every other department. This game has a huge size, the audio effects and the soundtrack fit the game perfectly and contribute a lot to it and gameplay is just so much fun. I spent about 20 quality hours with it. Apart from GRAW (and probably Oblivion) this is the best 360 game I´ve played so far.
And while i agree that the EA Sports games are usually a disappointment, at least in their first showing on a next-gen system (has been the same way back then on PS One and PS Two), other publishers are no way better.
At least EA released their games and gave you something to play at launch. Take2 has been delaying their graphically disappointing and only slightly modified Xbox360 ports of NBA2k6 and NHL2K6 in Europe now for 6 months!
I'd go as far as to say that the graphics are better overall in BR than PGR3. I've come to hate the HDR effects in PGR3, waaaaay overdone.
Holded out on purchasing Burnout revenge on the xbox or ps2 for the xbox360. Best purchase ever! the new online mode and graphics are great!
I will definently recommend this game to any xbox360 owner who just wants a good racer to have fun..pick up and play value is huge..and addiction is carved onto this.
You got some frustration or stress to take out? nothing like burnout and takedown mode
It seems some people have a very skewed picture of what it means to be a gamer when not playing genuinely good games is considered admirable. It points to someone who's more concerned about making some feeble statement instead of getting a great gaming experience.
Thing is, that makes you a politician, not a gamer.
He also said it would be against his morale to not release when he promised gamers his game was gonna come, that is just plain wrong,as publisher/dev we have a duty to release when people expect the game t ocome,so they for ex have money saved up for that game.
SHigeru from Nintendo said this...
A bad game will always be a bad game, but a delayed game will eventually be great.
or something :S cant rember every word ;) but you know what i mean.
Bye!
There's an attitude in the industry created by 3D Realms awful "when it's done" mantra. I mean what the hell, any other profession has timeframes and deadlines so why shouldn't games? If you don't know when you can release your game, don't show bullshit mockups three years in advance. Announce it when you can say for sure when it'll be on shelves.
Very fun game..... hard too.
I just wish Criterion didn't do away with some of the features that were available in the previous game.
It would feel like more of a complete experience that way:
Where's my garage?
Where's the Single Event mode?
Why can't I toggle traffic checking?
Why can't I see my trophie collection?
Simple things that should have stayed in, and shouldn't be overlooked.
I admit the game is incredible fun though, and many parts have improved since the last game.
It is what it is though, and I think it was a great purchase.
The added texture effects and increased framerate of the 360 version are obviously not a drawback either.
I think the only thing EA did for this game was increase the production value over what it would be without another big publisher.
(it might have been rushed though... I can't find any other reason for leaving out Single Event mode; everyone seemed to have a problem with that, except the reviewers - *strange*)
