I really want the Carentan remake. Looks slick.
In the end, I hope we do get them for free eventually, and I don't think that console users should complain if we do. You should rejoice. If there is still one (or two) outlets where free post release support is still a reality we should all be happy that it's not just dead all together.

The pricing went through the roof recently. I can't imagine me buying them for that much even if they were good. And I whish others would do the same, since in the future you won't get DLCs for 400 points anymore and MS starts to charge even more for even less.
And secondly, PC users are less likely to fall into this trap, because we're quite used to getting this kind of support for free. I don't think it would sell very well, and ranked providers wouldn't be likely to include these maps on their servers because it would segregate the community. These rifts are easier to deal with in the console environment, especially when users have shown that they don't particularly care about these issues.
So long as people honestly believe that $10 extra isn't much for this kind of content, and that segregating the community is simply no big deal, publishers will continue to charge for the content when they can. Developers with strong convictions against this trend such as Valve and Epic are unfortunately few and far between.
The game already cost console users $60.. what's a few extra increments of $10 in the form of hidden costs? ;P
BTW, what's up with the cursive fonts?
The should replace 'the best multiplayer experience in Call of Duty 4' part with 'making as much money as possible of this game'..
If they really cared about delivering the best multiplayer experience possible in Call of Duty 4 they wouldn't charge for MP maps.. Creating splits in online communities like that is *not* how you create the best multiplayer experience, so don't act like the marketing whores you are and tell plain lies..
Sadest part is there's gamers outthere that believe all that marketing BS..
Besides all this the mappack is a ripoff.. There's 1 map taken straight out of the SP (Office), and another is a remake of a old CoD map (Chinatown, or should I say Carentan).. They are so cheap to make..
I really like CoD4, but they way the makers of that game treat their fans now is really sad! No respect at all..
On top of that they charge about 1/6 of the original gameprice for content that's maybe 1/200 as much as the whole game. Bungie on that front is the king of getting as much money for as little value as possible: They charge a lot of money for remakes, for content that doesn't require much effort at all because it's already been thought of.
The maps look OK, and I'll find it acceptable if they make it free after a couple months like Bungie with the Heroic map pack...
I don't play COD4 online anymore...

It will split the community. I'm guessing it will, it will fall behind halo3 on the most played LIVE list. Halo3 has already had its community split due to premium pay DLC.
I'm sick of MS nickel and diming us. 3 maps... 300 pts would have been the most fair.
I'm hoping this PC designed for console maps that are coming are free. That is the plan right? Modders designing maps, on PC, that can be ported to consoles? If it free on one system, it has to be free on the other right?
I'm guessing this new DLC will be charge, 800 pts until the end of Summer, then go free, and released to the PC community for free.
MS is setting some miserable precedents this generation, HD optional, HD proprietary, HD too damn expensive. Proprietary wireless spec, so you can't use bluetooth tech for headsets, charging for gamerpics and themes, when they should be free, or unlocked via getting achievements. Imagine playing say COD4, and having 5 or 10 gamerpics, denoting how many achievents you've gotten. Finish the game, and unlock a theme... c'mon, MS!
With MS and the original Xbox, they had to be competitive... mandatory Hard Drive, fairly priced DLC... This does not bode well if MS wins this generation handily for the next time around... I'm starting to hope PS3 wins this generation, to get MS's head out of their arse. Proprietary tech sucks... Oh and its 2008, and Xbox LIVE's lobbies still suck for the most part. [getting down off soapbox]
Great looking screens by the way. I'm excited.
Too much whining here, go get a job.
