PC Xbox 360 PS3

Capcom surprised a lot of people today by resuscitating one of their old franchise: Bionic Commando to be released on PS3, 360 and PC. Some of you guys certainly remember the old NES and Gameboy games fondly. Also worth mentioning is that the game is being developed by the swedish studio GRIN, so far not really known for their great games. But we'll see, hopefully everything will go well. First screens inside.

This is awesome I guess.
I remember playing a Bionic Commando game but don't remeber how it was, but I do know it was "off the chain" haha.

Anyway, glad they are making a classic to the next-gen now, better visuals more potential and mayhem.

I think Lost Planets grappling hook was like a small teaser showcase to make the weapon workable and make the concepts from that into this until the announcement.

I can say this, the grappling hook was awesome in Lost Planet, wish you could do alot more stuff with that thing, like swing object, grab weapons or enemies toss them around...etc.

but anyway, I wonder how the firts gameplay footages will look like, but so far nice engine, maybe its the Lost Planet or DMC4 engine.

And its by swedish developers? I live in Sweden (not swedish) so I hope those guys make a good job, if not I will go "commando" and infiltrate their studio :P

looks promising and somewhat inspired by the flick "final fantasy - the spirits within", especially the third pic - could be right out of the movie.

That was not the great music I was hoping. Maybe I should do my own game someday and use NES/C64 style musics in it. Now that would be awesome :)

Graw 1&2? I though those were considered good games :)

I never played Bionic Commando myself, but seeing as how many gamers are quite enamored with it i guess there could be something to this sequel. Looking forward to more info on this one :)

If you're Bionic... maybe going commando isn't the greatest idea.

Looks coool

I think its a cool idea to go commando, IF the bionic weapon is good.

When it comes to original games, it doesn't get any better than Capcom. I was hoping for something more than another sequel/resurrection.

Wonder how long now till Crapcom pull a monster hunter 3 with this and say it costs to much so they make it a Wii game.

Crapcom and original ideas? Never they just reserrect every old idea they have originality and Crapcom don't go hand in hand

Looks to generic if you ask me not that interested, try harder Crapcom

that would be because of Picture 3 due to the aircrafts shape and design quite similar to James camerons aliens one when they land at the complex :)

This should've been a more stylized game with music that captures the feel of the original game. Dum-dedi-dum-dedi-dum-dedi-dum.

Also, it should've been on the Wii with crazy grapple wiimote action. The grapple hook in Twilight Princess was ace, and building an entire game around it would've been awesome.

This gives me the same vibe as Project Altered Beast. :(

GRIN is OK, but somehow always limited with the way that PC games works, which is optimization issues over different pc machines with different specs. Saying that they are very serious in what they are doing:)

Interview with developer. Some good stuff. Never played the original... goes into brief history of title, things that will and will not carry over to the new one, and design of the arm. Worth a watch.

"maybe its the Lost Planet or DMC4 engine"

DMC4 and LP are on the same engine, and so is Dead Rising and Resident Evil 5, they all use Capcom's in house engine MT Framework.

Looking at the Screens it does look like the same engine but, can't be shure...

Never played the original but with the current form Capcom are in I expect good things.
Also no surprise that it's a game with a very western appeal. Nice to know Japanese studio's are starting to realize how to make money this gen rather than wasting their talent on niche Japanese games that will never be released in the rest of the world...

Okay I got something for the anticipated Bionic Commando fans for the next-gen version.

I made a teaser and one from the pre-rendered.
The pre-rendered one you will see some editing job on the title and on the left side, I had to do so because to make the character show more.

Both are in 1440x900
