Xbox 360

NinjaBee, the guys behind Outpost Kaloki X, has announced a new Xbox Live Arcade title: Cloning Clyde. The story is simple: you were invited for scientific cloning research, but the scientists weren't as nice as they seemed and trapped in the laboratory you need to escape. It's now all up to you by cloning, combining and mutating yourself with apes, frogs, chickens and other animals. The game is co-op (2 players) both offline and online, and is also packed with other versus multiplayer features for up to 8 players in over 40 levels. First images inside.

Interesting, but I wish MS would hurry up with the SFII and more traditional arcade games, like the Namco ones that got announced. Those will sell like gang busters.

I will have to wait and see on this game, but the problem with a good amount of XBLA games is that they are too original or too new, not a franchise, that its a hard sell, and unless someone gives them a raving review, like GeoWars, I dont see them selling. Yet someone puts TMNT, SFII, MK, Simpsons, et al, and those things will be downloaded like mad. Its the whole nastalgia(sp?) thing.

No, sorry. But the press release says "and be on the lookout for Cloning Clyde, coming soon to an Xbox 360 near you!", so it should be soon.

Btw, the game is Xbox 360 exclusive.

Looks great. With that pure polygon + cell shading thing they can fit immense worlds into a very small download if they want.

Heck, it would be cool to see more games adopt this system for something like platformers etc.

actually, i think the New Franchises are doing fine. You mentioned GeoWars, but there's also Zuma and Marble Blast which are among the hottest games out. As long as these new titles are good, they'll keep up there with the retro games.

Although, aren't Zuma and Marble Blast PC games already? I think they've been out on PC for a while before xbox360.

How well did Outpost Kaloki do? I enjoyed the demo but didn't buy it...my friend did though. I look forward to more original games (like maybe Hoopworld)...but the old school games will be fun too.

Yeah Outpost Kaloki X surprised me as it was the only truly unique XBLA game. I'm keeping an eye on this developer, seems they are going to follow through and keep making original XBLA games that will actually be worth buying.
