I wonder what the "mature" community of CoD is going to do with all the the logo customization options.... ^^

I don't understand how you think Black Ops looks boring and Medal Of Honor doesn't.

Exactly, at least Black Ops has changed it up with the cold war scenarios, in gameplay terms there is almost nothing that separates them except that MOH features all the current gear that has been seen a million times in other games.

I have to admit I am also not too comfortable with MOH exploiting a current war as a form of entertainment, it really is a little tacky...

It's great marketing though. Controversy is free advertising. They're eating that shit up.

Did you play the beta for MoH? It wasn't very good, and it's clearly trying to emulate Call of Duty and Battlefield, and fails on both accounts. Canceled my pre-order.

While that is true, there is also a section of consumers, including myself that will pass on it for those reasons so I am not sure how successful it will be, the whole choice to go in that direction may in fact backfire, it's definitely a gamble. Movies and TV series for example have done poorly when trying to use the current war as fodder, "Over There" and "Green Zone" spring to mind.

Anyway, as I said I am much more interested in the paranoia of the cold war era, probably due to the fact that I grew up while it was still going on in the 80's and the fact that the Russians were "legitimate" bad guys back then instead of having to stretch to some kind of ultra nationalist fictional splinter group.

what beta the old or the new. yeah the beta looked not so good but it was a beta. the new MP vids look awsome and sound awsome. i have enough of all those stupid litte kids who just camp all day. and it looks like BO will be unbalanced as hell like MW2 is.

You think the Ruskies were bad compared to the Taliban? You gotta do your homework brother. As for MOH, yep the MP beta was brutal, but still a nice touch. Graphics wise MOH MP looks way better that COD, but most people play COD b/c of the awesome gameplay customizations.

MOH SP looks amazing, that alone should make it a must by. Just wait until you see the new video 6 "danger close".

Plus, I'd like to point out that this is the first time the war in Afghan was featured in a console game. I'm not railing on COD, just saying you should give both a try.

BINGO! people played the MOH *BETA* assuming it would be like all other "beta's" that arnt REALLY beta's, more like multiplayer demo's that test server strain, if that. the MOH beta was a REAL beta, with real problems that needed players to report so they could fix them. and you can clearly see in recent footage that the issues from the BETA are gone.

to judge MOH's multiplayer on the BETA would be like judging a film on it's unfinished workprint that had missing sound, visual effects and story. it's fair to do it in most cases since most "beta's" are just demo's under a different name, but in MOH's case. it really was a beta, there to help in the development of the game, not to make a judgement on whetter to buy it. that will come with the demo.

tbh, i'm not particularly interested in either this, MOH or battlefield, but i know for a fact i wouldnt touch THIS even if you gave it to me. not after the awful MW2.

It's DICE. The RELEASE is probably a BETA. The issues from the beta probably aren't "gone," they're just not on display in PR videos.

And anyway, the problems with MoH weren't BUGS, it was a lack of IDENTITY, and mediocre GAMEPLAY. When it comes right down to it, Medal of Honor's BUGS weren't what made cancel my pre-order, but DESIGN ISSUES, which aren't going to change this late in the game. The Bad Company 2 BETA was also very BETA and also already a lot BETTER. MoH isn't going to be very GOOD. I'll try it again, but I don't suspect it to be much better.

Also, lol.

MW2 certainly missed the mark, but it wasn't as bad as some people let on. I can still pop online and have some fun.

I also Don't understand how some people can praise COD4 as much as they do and then slam MW2. I would probably rate them similarly.

Though I would really like to the tactical shooter make a come back. I was really hoping that would more the direction of MOH. Rather than just following the trend.

On the PC side, it's really easy. Peer-to-peer networking, simplified controls (no lean!), no console, no mods, etc. I wouldn't have played nearly as much COD4 if I had to play vanilla.

Don't misunderstand, I was not comparing the cold war Russians to the Taliban (Who I regard as real fucking lowlife scum). I just meant that in the other COD MW games it was a stretch to make the Russians the bad guys as they are actually more pitiful than threatening nowadays.

whilst theres no denieing that MOH beta was definatly in beta mode, i think it's pretty damn optimistic to believe all those issues will be gone in the few short months between that and the release.

The new vids released ofcourse are meaningless when they've been so obviously directed and carefully edited

REAL men dont need "lean"!

I was actually playing MW2 yesterday for the first time in a good while. It's still great fun.

It also reminded me how much difference 60fps makes on an fps game

It's probably just the video. Games never look quite like they do when they are playing right there on your tv.

Customization, cinema, shapes up really nice. Also liked Treyarch´s "World at War". Will give this a try.

MW2 was not that bad as people say, killstreaks can be annoying though.

I'm sure this will be a great game, just like MW1 and 2 was as well as World at War.
