Crash Time 4 is coming

Even though the franchise is far from being the best out there, the first three Crash Time managed to convince a bunch of fans. There have been some good improvements over the years so we will see if Crash Time 4 can prove that dp Entertainment and Synetic nailed it.

– High speed pursuits and tons of car action in Cologne: Publisher dtp entertainment and developer Synetic are proud to announce the release of Crash Time 4, the latest game in this fast-paced car action series, which will appear on PC and Xbox 360®. For the first time in the series, a multiplayer mode has been added to the game. Crash Time 4 allows up to eight players to play challenges online.
In single player mode, which has also been completely re-designed, players are chasing down a criminal syndicate, whose members are trying to stop the police and gain control over the scenic city of Cologne. Based on the German TV series “Alarm für Cobra 11” (known as “Cobra 11” or “Autobahn Cop” in several countries), players slip into the roles of the two highway cops Semir and Ben, the TV series’ main characters. Thus, players go through various missions based on the events of the TV series.

While patrolling the breathtaking German city of Cologne, Semir and Ben are called to various action-packed police operations. While responding to these calls, players also need to neatly monitor the streets. Criminal subjects and members of the syndicate are scattered all over the street. Semir and Ben need to force them to reveal hints that will lead the cops to their hideouts - in order to bring the syndicates’ organized criminal activities to an end.

Developer Synetic virtually rebuilt more than 100 kilometres of Cologne’s streets, highways and beautiful sceneries, including world famous sightseeing spots such as the Cologne cathedral and the Rhine river bridges. Crash Time 4 offers more than eight square kilometres of gameplay world and more than 40 different cars.

dtp entertainment is going to publish Crash Time 4 in Q4 2010 for PC and Xbox 360®, the video game and entertainment system from Microsoft.

I have to say, that looks quite nice. I couldn't stand the crap voice acting and lack of incentive to actually play the game that the previous games *offered*, but I'll still give the demo a punt as before.

Looks pretty good but after seeing the screenshots im even more certain that a follow up to Midtown Madness 3 would be awesome for this gen!

I am playing through the third game now on the 360 and it is like Wreckless, though it isnt open world like Wreckless was. You have small sections of city that you can drive in, when you get to a tunnel or bridge, there is a loading screen for a couple of seconds. Not too distracting, but it does take away from that open-world feel. The game is fun and generally consists of chasing the criminal element down and running them off the road. Some escort missions and the such also. If you liked Wreckless, this is definitely the game for you. The third game can be had new from Amazon for $26.

Good to hear that they are continuing the series for fans. There is nothing quite like it on the 360.

Nice, the lighting actually has a GT5 look to it. Here is hoping they have awesome crash physics and deformation!...

i've played the first couple of games with friends, and it's a good laugh. but nothing more. The story, script and voices are absolutely pathetic - so much it actually gets funny. If you can look through that, then you might like the franchise.

car handling is ok, and the newest addition has added vehicle shooting to the mix.

Don't get too tied up with the comparisons to wreckless. this is quite different. Wreckless was a kind of cool that Crashtime can only dream about. Seriously.

who actually buys these things...lol i remember playing the demo for the first one and it was seriously bad. how are they on the 4th?

The first game is kind of a shell of what the 3rd game represents. I think they learned from their mistakes and made something decent. Do yourself a fovor and at least rent it. Especially if you liked Wreckless or the old arcade game Chase HQ.
