The irony there is that Far Cry was a series founded by Crytek, on CryEngine. The first Far Cry game was made by them, but published by Ubisoft. (And it was stunning at the time.) After that, Ubisoft took over the series, for better or worse.

Impressive. Gfx wise their games are top notch, animation and particle affect makes other game look more appealing. Obviously art direction also plays important part

I'm of the opposite view. But I'm glad that they're pushing each other to be at their best and most optimised. Competition is always great. Last gen 90% of games looked like UE3, this gen I'm glad things are more diverse.
