i kind feel that is too bad this upper echelon of the engine is wasted in another crysis. I really hate to fight those brain dead cell modern warefare drones, and never liked that much the gunplay. The alien weapons were cool, though. and it's refreshing playing as a superhero in fps.

might be possible on pc, but not on current consoles (taking a look at how much worse games like Gears of War, Halo, Uncharted or Last of Us do look in comparison...)

Just put the difficulty on highest, and the Ai is good enough. Not the best, but comparing it to COD AI is ridiculous.
Once I cranked up the difficulty (after maxing my Suit abilities on the first playthrough) it really made the game much more fun. It's like being the predator. You pretty much have to stay cloaked the whole time, as you die fast, but since the suit doesn't drain as fast, you can come at situations many different ways...

OOh tesselated toad tech... The future is now!!

hell no. I don't want to turn this into another diatribe on a game that is not the game in question, but i even went to check my chevos and yeap, like 90% of games i play in this pussy age of games, i played in the hardest setting.

I "hardly" (lol) doubt the pc version is much different, other than the better k/m response, in enemy AI and reactions... so they all moved the same. I got tired of doing giant hitbox head shots (and to the aliens too, but at least when those decided to move they would almost vanish, so that was cool. too bad you could wait in a corner and... headshot.)

Only time i found the enemys difficult and that had that "veteren cheap difficulty" that makes you grow hair on your chest, was on the cloaking aliens tword the end.

Still looks too plastic-like for me. While I'm sure it's due to the abilities of the designers, their engine never seems to produce anything that looks like it has true texture. It always has some sort of clear gloss to it. The water is quite unimpressive as well. Sort of an analogy for the whole 'crytek' look we've grow accustom to.

But the real problem, beside trying trying to avoid myself from becoming some sort of game graphics critiquing loser, if they made a game that was damn fun to play, they could go completely 1999 low-poly and I'd play the hell out of it.

well... i don't know if this is the trailer/tech demo effect, but the heli scene is ways beyond of those on Crysis 2 in the "realistc" department. And the Heli cutscenes in Crysis 2 were really good.

Okay... When Cevat Yerli said not to overstate Unreal Engine 4, that Epic should have done more then just show off with a tech demo, it sounded very childish. But seing these directly from ingame footage... I can't help but thinking he was right after all.

This Engine is on another level completly compared to UE4.

Sadly we will see more of UE4 next gen than this.

You're probably right. But you can hardly blame developers on this. Have you seen UE4 walkthrough? Whole editor with the interface looks as if it makes developers lives A LOT more easier.

I wouldn't go that far, although it does boast a couple of incredibly advanced features in there. Most notably for me was the caustics. I really didn't think caustics would be seen any time soon in a engine, but there it was. How advanced the effect is, however, is yet to be seen. Looks like it's just a localised effect rather than a global one with refractions, reflections et al. The displacement mapping was also very impressive, GPU RAM hogging chuggfest ahoy there. Ditto with the toad tesselation. If anything is a tad overrated as a feature, it's tesselation. If these features come right out of the box as a standard set for first gen games using this engine on next gen platforms, then colour me impressed. Unreal 4 is no slouch either.

Amazing stuff. Already beats the unreal 4 engine in-game. I hope the toad is in the game.
It's very pretty for sure, but from a tech standpoint it's nowhere near Unreal 4 level. This is still a current gen engine, Unreal 4 is doing things far beyond that.

people forget that the short Samaritan demo is more impressive than naything shown here. And what is shown here is a Full blown game.

I agree absolutely. The second passage of the game was better than the first. But the effect of surprise was lost. With the weapon is all right in the game. But the enemy in a piece of iron, and the mucus is not very interesting.
