So anyway, just woke up there. Yeah, the first two games certainly weren't that memorable in the gameplay department, and I'm thinking that this one - it being a kind of cross-breed of both - might not be that exciting either. There's only so many times I can kill the same generic soldier. That crossbow does look interesting, I'll give it that. Oh, and did I mention it looks sort of nice? That's Crysis' thing, right?

Agreed. The first one was gorgeous, and unique by allowing you tons of different play styles, and wide open environments. They turned the sequel into a corridor shooter with limited options, and a boring setting. This one looks to straddle the line between the first two games, but will probably be worth trying if only for the amazing visuals...
WHO CARES HOW IT PLAYS LOOK AT IT. The Crysis games are always just a fun eyecandy game, even if you don't much care for the actual gameplay. I think 2 is playable, and the original is actually pretty entertaining if you let loose in the sandbox.
But fuuuuuuuck this game looks incredible.
Its an Alpha, so performance optimization is all over the place, meaning really bad...just like Crysis 2 alpha.
I am sure that if you can run Crysis 2 the way you do, Crysis 3 wont be a big issue.
Now my only concern from Crytek and Crysis 3 is that I want them to make it 720p on consoles, i hate sub Hd or blurry shit like they did with Crysis 2.
If not perfect 720p atleast a few numbers below but still looking sharp.
Crysis 1 i enjoyed, but 2 was very boring and a technical mess (more on the ps3) i'll see how this one pans out before seeing if its worth a rent or not, not till 2013 though so meh.
Looking forward this. Love the bow. Graphics are awesome as always but there is one more thing I love about games of Crytek. SOUND! They always have crisp amazing sounds for every action in the game, from sounds of steps to weapon sounds, ambient etc....

Not really seeing anything in 3 that makes it a must buy, but yeah will wait to see some more vids to see if it can entice me.
It's MP alpha. Anyhow, Crysis has never been about the MP. I liked the MP in C2 until the hackers ruined everything and Crytek didn't do anything about it.
The "alpha" is quite polished. I'm bitching about inherently broken game design. Inherently broken game design concepts are really friggin popular.
Performance on ultra isn't great, but it's still pretty damn awesome looking when you drop a few things. Shame it's not a very good game. Hopefully the campaign is a tremendous leap over C2. That was one of the most disappointing sequels of all time (for me, obviously).
