Here comes a new gameplay video for Crysis 3 showing a single-player playthrough where Psycho and Prophet fight against the CELL troops while making their way to the Liberty Dome. The game will be out in February 2013. Update: 3 screens added.
I suppose it looks good and all. Some lovely real-time caustics at 4:35, something that's never been seen before in a game. The NPC bloke looked exceptional. Other than that, it still doesn't do anything for me. The gameplay just looks as flat and generically boring as ever. The trouble with Crysis and games like it is the powers you get, and the powers you just seem to automatically have, a'la regenerating health and a lovely big indicator to show you where you're absorbing a billion bullets from. Not only that, but what makes this trend to FPS shooters worse is that in Crysis you get a lovely shield, armour, invisibility and what not. Great. So there goes any tension and tactics. Yes, play the way you want, but you're still a walking tank with super powers. Dull! The sooner these trends in FPS's die, the better off the genre will be. But it still looks pretty, so that's all that matters, no?
Yeah I hope it's more challenging and also more consistent with that challenge. I actually liked Crysis 2 a lot but it just feels like you can cheat a lot of the situations because of how generous your powers are. It's all very well having choice but not when one of those choices is clearly the best option anyway. They need to playtest this more. I'm also hoping for better AI that doesn't hump walls a good deal of the time
Anyone else having problems playing big video files from GS lately? It feels like it has happened after the switch to the new mp4 format. When I'm watching the video they start up but a while into them they are "corrupted" jumps to the end of the video.

This is why Im always smiling, when I see people throwing shits on product only because of some BETA of the multiplayer or even screenshots or similar situations, without seeing its full glory in SP. This is awesome!
God damn, that grass looks great. And real time caustics! Very impressive! I'll play this for the visuals and a probably mindless shooter. Really like the environment, it's too bad it'll probably play a lot like Crysis 2. Which wasn't awful, but it wasn't all that special either.
For a FPS game it is special, IMO anyways, alongside Bioshock and Darkness 2. Most FPSs these days have generic pick up weapon, not be able to mod it or change it, nothing. Simple pick up weapon with whatever its on and kill enemies and go forth until cutscene, i find them way more boring.
Even Bullstorm, as linear that was, it was alot of fun to find ways to gain more XP through environmental kills or weapons kills...or both. Its hard to find a FPS these days that stands out, that gives you some freedom of choice anytime, and I think Crysis has done that pretty well so far.
But then again, word "special" can mean different things to different people on how they view its definition. By all the FPS games i experience, Crysis stands out the most interms of being unique. Now hating Crysis 2 or not is not based on its gameplay but rather its freedom, something Crysis did great.
EA sure does love God mode trailers. Guy didn't even bother taking cover or clearing out enemies. Never found firefights in Crysis to be engaging whatsoever, and the sequels made them worse. That HUD is straight annoying with the honeycombs pulsing all the time.

very few with religious beliefs are naive or zealots, but for sure don't find amusing their beliefs being thrown in for clout. maybe STFU with that discourse? (2 Weeks ago)

Pretty sure Loakum was making fun of religious naive people who thought that God and Trump have a good connection. And the most recent "Bruh..." means "Bruh, don't you get my sarcasm?" (3 Weeks ago)
