Valve has revealed today that Counter-Strike: Global Offensive will include "Arsenal Mode", two addition modes based off the popular Counter-Strike: Source mod Gun Game. Screenshots and details are below.

September 22, 2011 - Valve, creators of best-selling game franchises (such as Counter-Strike, Half-Life, Left 4 Dead, Portal, and Team Fortress) and leading technologies (such as Steam and Source), today announced the new game modes for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS: GO).

Targeted for release via Playstation Network, Xbox Live Arcade, and Steam (for PC and Mac) in early 2012, CS: GO will expand upon the team-based action gameplay that it pioneered when it was launched 12 years ago.

Arsenal Mode is based on the popular Counter-Strike: Source mod Gun Game. "Arsenal: Arms Race" and "Arsenal: Demolition" add eight new maps and expand on the classic Counter-Strike gameplay.

Valve is working directly with creators of Gun Game to create Arsenal Mode. "We are excited that Valve reached out and is working with us to ensure Arsenal Mode is the best version of Gun Game.", Michael Barr project lead of Gun Game.

I know it's free but the game is just over saturated with pre-order hats/weapons...

Valve, still making environments like it's the mid 90s. I wish they'd just license Unreal or CryEngine, as Source is a relic which needs to go away.

Even in that regard it looks outdated. But i guess that's part of the appeal?!? The old-school MP gameplay?

Cant imagine this will sell that well, not when COD and BF are around.

the original, yes, back in like 2001. this looks like the same game with a moderately glossy coat of paint. hence dated. but i understand that is its appeal. who wants an improved experience or a game that has got with the times. people buy CS for CS. why change it now. i'll be avoiding it for the reasons some are excited for it.
