Trailer Xbox 360 PS3

Dante's Inferno, edited by EA and developed by Visceral Games, is back in a new trailer showing some real gameplay footage. The parents, Kratos and Ryu Hayabusa, must be proud though unfortunately we haven't been proposed the HD version of the trailer.
Update: HD trailer added.

I can't pretend like I'm not totally excited about this. GOW rip this, Divine Comedy fuckup that.. Truth is Dead Space was a little RE4-y and Gearsy and that kinda staggered people and delayed their "oh wait, this is actually good!" reaction too. With this, I see no reason why the GOW template shouldn't work, and it's not like Kratos' endeavours treated the greek myth with a semblance of respect either. What's important is that this is some pretty awesome source material to do an HD action game with, featuring some pretty wild and epic imagery if done right.

I'm stoked. At worst I imagine it'll be a Dark Sector and I can live with spending time with the Dark Sector to GOW's Gears.

It's on purpose. :P

Is there like a rule saying we have to use the game's title in the news title and can't make a few changes? :D

I can't even pretend that I'm not super excited about this game. I'm a HUGE fan of the God of War series, and this game looks like God of War on crack! This game got me checking out the poem just to get caught up.

The art is nice...the premise seems to lack any of the complexity of the original work, but that is to be expected of an action game...as the above said, GoW took alot of liberties as well... Graphically, its not quite up there with GoW3 and Lord of Shadows, but it does look better than expected...the original screens were piss poor

OK, I just realised that these guys are the ones who made Dead Space (big DUH to me lol). I have some doubts about the game but I think I have more faith now that I found out they made Dead Space.

And then you un-duh again cause it's not the same guys. Same studio, different dev team. At least that's what i've heard.

Well the trailer didn't show the combat being all that good had some hit detection problems, but from the GTTV episode they had last week showed proper combat footage and that was MUCH better, really liked it.
I recommend people to watch the GTTV episode on gametrailers.com were they show the combat much better, this trailer didn't do the job well.
But the art, music, voice acting, atmosphere is there, definitely on my list for 2010.

Another thing, Ryu Hayabusa is way above Kratos and this guy in terms of skills.

PS. What megido said, I don't think it's the same team of Dead Space.

Watched some of the GTTV stuff and ow...when one of the developers say "you can't just have combat combat combat, you'll get combat fatigued. How much mashing can you do for 3 hours straight". GG.

it looks a lot better now then it did a while ago with it's psp looking visuals. but it still doesnt strike me as particularly impressive looking. if the combat is as fun as god of war tho, then i'll be happy enough.

EA Redwood Shores has rebranded and are now using the name Visceral Games. However, the team that is making Dante's Inferno is not the Dead Space team. They are another team under the same bigger brand.

I don't know what the hive mind thought, but that trailer is on par with everthing GoW III has shown visual quality wise, only thing that GoW III has even more in great quality is insane animated mo-caped QTE on 'finish him', wich isn't shown here.
It's a real acheivement, that a game with probably much lower budget can compete with the deep funds of a well established franchise like GoW.

looks quite promising. dante has to prove his badassness, just like kratos did.
GOW3 and dante's inferno can co-exist people. just like prototype and infamous; pure and motorstorm 2; NG2 and NGS2; uncharted2 and gears2; singstar and lips; buzz and 1vs100 etc etc.

This is loookkingg good, i like how the scythe turns into others, though, in games like these i do prefer different weapons and lots of upgrades, perhaps this does have that and i'm not informed, but yeah, good none the less.

Its difficult to compare them, considering this game is going for a more 'realistic' style...its the scale and lighting that makes a difference for me...these both look better in GoW3...Overall, I find GoW 3 to be quite a bit more impressive, Lord of Shadows as well...but this looks suprisingly nice...

quite surprising how close it seeks to mirror GoW in terms of mechanics...near identical...just not as showy
