The PC version is good though. Looks a lot better, constant 60 FPS and 1080p. A clear step up form the atrocious PS3 version.
I also think that enemies and their placement, and general level design is way suckier in DS2. I mean, i'm not gonna put any spoilers in here but there are a few areas that are just a complete DRAG to play. The challenge is just resisting the tedium and persevering, no skill required. Way fewer cool bosses as well. Most of em are just dudes in various types of armor. Where is my Gaping Dragon craziness?
My brother had quite an addiction to the first one and knew it inside and out, and he still thinks this one is much better. Plus I see a lot of great reviews for it. I guess player's opinions can be like game reviews. They just don't apply to everyone.
The PvP is a huge improvement though, that's one of the things they got right this time.
I don't know, the entire game just feels kinda tuned down to accommodate newbies. I guess Demon's was just generally more punishing, even with the stones.
The game also feels like it's very inviting when it comes to summoning and co-op. I don't like it, but on some bosses at least i pretty much need a second player or an NPC to make the battle possible. I couldn't even imagine beating the Ruin Sentinels with a dex build, going in solo. And i've played Dark Souls to death.
