Looks gorgeous! Is there a way to play with no HUD? I feel for testers who have to show off the game without a HUD heh.

Gonna go ahead and guess that this is either a) a massively overleveld character, or B) just something they slapped together for the video, much like the stress test where characters had infinite equip load and stuff. Obviously there are cuts in between but the guy is carrying around a long sword, a storm curved sword, a zweihänder, a battle axe and some spear (looks new for the DLC, might be wrong. Not 100% sure). That combined with the armor and shield should make him fat roll all over the place.

After a long time play through of the soul series: last year bb, then I bought DS2SoFS, then DS1PtD on Steam, then DS3 on PS4, then DeS on PS3.

I feel really tired to keep playing this type of games.

So I indeed understand Miyazaki, I think he is also tired of making these kind of games.

Any series, if you play them all back to back, is gonna feel repetitive. If you play them as they release, i don't think that's an issue. That said, i think them moving on from Souls is a good thing. I'd rather have something new at this point, as none of the games after Dark Souls have been equal to it.

i definitely prefer bloodborne from a gameplay/atmosphere/art perspective. but then i'm a sucker for jack the ripper/Victorian era london and it tapped into that flawlessly, it also came at a time when dark souls desperately needed a refresh since it was getting stale and dark souls 2 turned out mediocre as fuck... and even dark souls 3 didn't address that problem.

definitely good to hear they're moving away from the souls formula though. it's tired. needs a long rest or just not bother with it again. i just hope the company have the chops to make another successful game that doesn't rely on that formula. i get the impression it was a lucky shot though. it'll be back to crappy armoured core games and throw away titles.

At first i didn't like Bloodborne that much, and i obviously still prefer Dark Souls 1, but i've come around to it as it's own thing. It certainly stands apart from the other Souls sequels and it's refreshing to see that.

I still think Dark Souls 2 and 3 are great games though. But i know we play these games very differently. Is till play Dark Souls 1 actively, practicing speedruns and doing challenge runs not to mention spending hundreds of hours exploring lore and testing different builds before that.

At any rate, i'm excited to see what they do next.

ds2 and bb are my first touch to souls
At least for me now, ds1 is not very attractive.

Lots of people said ds1 is the best soul game among all the 5 games(ds1,2,3. bb. des)

But I like the soul2's system more.
I think it's user friendly, since you can clear all the enimies after 15 times.

And you can fight the bosses without start the game in new game+

The above 2 maybe the reasons I don't like to play ds1

Seriously, teh spawn counter is just bad. It means that 1, you can just grind areas until you win instead of getting good at the game, and 2, it makes farming stuff annoying. It serves no purpose other than letting the shittiest players slog thought the game at a snails pace. How many areas did you really have to clear 15 times and stop spawns for? I think the only time it's happened for me was at like pre-patch Amana and when i was farming for gear. It's a dumb system that is only useful if you can't learn strategies and placement of enemies.

As for the new game + thing, i guess. I don't see how that's in any way a deal breaker though. DS1 is short enough that you can take it for a second run and be done in a few hours, or you could just finish exploring the world BEFORE beating the last boss. Minor gripe, and even though deciding for yourself when to start NG+ is better, it's not a huge deal.

So for those two, silly reasons you are passing up the best designed game in the entire series. I mean, of the current Souls game i think 2 sucks the most. It's still a good game, but it's easily the shittiest of them. I feel confident saying that is objectively true :P

DS1 has the most interesting world, the best lore and the best designed boss fights in the entire series, why would respawning anamies, a core concept in Souls, make you not want to play it?

What r u, casul!?

I guess I'm not counting as casul, since I've platiumed and 100%ed bloodborne, and also have done over 70% of ds3.

But that does not mean I want to play the game that way.

I mean, if you leave me no options, that's all right, I can deal with it.

However, for me, I like ds2's solutions more.

I'm not the type of person who wants to play the game one time after another.
The main reason is that I've got over 60 PS4 games, plus over 90 PSV games, plus over 40 PS3 games, plus many ipad games and steam games.

So the question is simple here: how to arrange the time to play.
And since I've got so many games to clear.

I want to play souls more efficiently, as I said, like in ds2.

BTW, the spawn counter, it's not mainly for lower the difficulty, it's like an object to me.

Actually, I can speed run to the boss (like I did in bb), that also works.
I just want to clear all the enimies if I know I can clear them all.

Makes sense to me, let's not play the greatest games of previous generations, because there are new ones coming! How many amazing older games are you missing because of that? I mean, aside from Dark Souls.

As far as BB goes, you know the current record for any% is 32 minutes, are you really doing that kind of run, or are you just talking not spending endless time killing each enemy before getting to a boss? :P

As for the giant dad thing, that's a joke, don't take it seriously :P

As a core gamer, I want to play all the good games

If it's good enough, I don't care whether it is a FC game

But every time I see my game collection, I give up the idea.

Good games are quite a lot, and I can't play them all.

And I'm not sure which is my favorite, you know, people can change.

Oh, and, many of my games are time killer, they are not some small game which I can finish in few hours.

Like, Witcher3 yr edition, GTA5, Batman AK Knight, MGS5TPP, Blazblue (multiple titles), SFV, God Eater (multiple titles), over 10 JRPG titles (each should be like 50 hours to finish), and also the full lineup of souls, and many many more.

So my situation is that if during some time I pick up certain game, I hope I can finish it, otherwise, I will not play it for a long time.

My last savedata of PSV's uncharted is in 2013, and I haven't done the first playthrough of it.

I think my problem is many steam gamers' problem

They just buy games, not play games.

So do I.

Yeah it just makes no sense to me why you would skip the one game in a series you obviously like, that is held pretty much without dispute as the best in the series. For silly reasons like that one mechanic that is only in DkS2 isnt there (nor is it there in BB or DkS3).

What ever, i'm not tryiung to force you to play it, i just don't understand your thinking. I mean, if i had played all Final Fantasy games except for 7, which everyone seems to think is the bees knees, i'd go back and play it, even if i had some new games in a stack. Assuming that i liked the series, which in this case i don't so i don't see why i picked it. But still :P

It's hard to explain

But ds2 is my first soul game (bb not the real soul game)

So I'd say ds2 show me what a soul game looks like

That's the reason why I'm not quite feeling ds1.

The first time I play des is even more painful.
At least ds1 have many bonfire to shorten the run time.

In Des if you die, you have to run a long way to your last point.

Also, the ds2 version I played is on PS4 with almost 60fps all the time.

The ds1 version I played even with my GTX1070, is not quite smooth.
I guess that's another reason I like ds2 more than ds1.

What I don't like ds2 is its slow speed.
The movements are too slow

Loved DS3 but unloke Bloodborne I never had the urge for more when i finished it, I think the flow and pace of combat in bloodborne is one of the hallmarks of gameplay design. It felt like an action RPG with no genre compromise which is rare in the action RPG arena.

I agree with Dark Souls 3, i haven't played that anywhere near as much as Dark Souls 1 or 2. A mere 169 hours as compared to ~1000 in Dark Souls 1 :P

It just doesn't offer much incentive to replay over and over. The game is so linear, the builds all feel so similar and the bosses are kinda boring. Hope the DLC does better, it looks really neat from the trailers :)
