30th July 2015: Scared of the dark? Well, you shouldn’t be! This coming October, darkness becomes your friend and light your foe as One Upon Light is released digitally across Europe and US markets for PlayStation 4.
Created by the extraordinary talent of Singaporean developers SUTD Game Lab, the game will be published digitally across western markets by Rising Star Games through another successful indie partnership.
Set in a world where the rules of light and shadow no longer apply, One Upon Light sees you exploring the ruined remains of the Aurora Science labs in search of answers. What happened here? Who are you? And, most importantly, will things ever be the same again? The answers are there to find but whatever you do, don’t go into the light…
Game Features:
- Top-down puzzle gameplay sees you using the unique properties of light and shadow to explore and overcome obstacles
- Use switches, blocks, carts and other techniques to create shadows, blocking out the light that will otherwise end your adventure…
- Employ the power of the Shadow Echo to ‘record’ shadows as they appear, then use them to progress even if the real shadow vanishes
- Visually charming and inspired by classic black and white cartoons, One Upon Light is a true test of skill, brains and photophobia.
“If there’s one thing our line-up of indie releases shows, it is that Rising Star Games loves original gaming,” said Martin Defries, Managing Director of Rising Star Games. “When One Upon Light was first shown to us, we knew immediately that it was a great fit for our style and we had a strong wish to bring it to games fans across the globe. ”
“Since our exclusive Sony PlayStation 4 Asia release in October 2014, we have been looking for the right partner to bring this game to the West,” said Teo Chor Guan, Programme Director of SUTD Game Lab. “Rising Star Games helps us fulfil our dream and we can’t wait for the world to embrace One Upon Light.”
More information about One Upon Light will be made available in the coming weeks exclusively from Rising Star Games.
