Xbox 360 PS3

After months of silence, the upcoming E3 is a good opportunity for THQ to release a brand new trailer of Darksiders : Wrath of War, a game as promising as it is pretty.

I was sold after seeing the cinematic with the battle-armored angel fighting a demon. Angels kicking ass ftw.

Hmmm.

The design of it all looks above average, and the cinematics looked pretty epic. My only complaint would be the whole 'horsemen of the apocalypse in a modern city' thing going on.... seriously? What is this, Bill & Ted?

Gameplay on the other hand looks shocking. Sparse amount of enemies at once, along with boring looking visuals.

The CG is amazing but there is a problem with this game.

All the moves they added for this game from other games.

Ground twist sword attack - Dante DMC
Grab and pull enemies - Nero DMC
Hover with shadow wings - God of War / Bohan (Heavenly Sword)
QTE finishers - God of War
Charge windmill shuriken - Ninja Gaiden 2/NGS2

Seems like they can't come up with their own moves for War and make it unique.

Good art and concept ideas though.

Funny, people said the same going from PSX/N64 to GC/Xbox/PS2.

Not all games are classics or reinventions. who cares, if they're good.

My sentiments exactly. Iit's why the Bond films have lasted so long, and it's why films like Die Hard and Rambo are still popular after 5 or so instalments. People like an easy thrill ride every now and again.

"Hunted by Heaven, Hated by Hell" haha sounds like some Spawn tagline!

Game is looking very solid, very excited.

Nope, it was on IGN walkthrough a few weeks ago :P
Was about like 10 minutes I believe showing a proper gameplay of their current development for the game.

Sath thx for all the information. Was thinking exactly the same about the gameplay. With Vendeta comming this will be a tough decision. Im not a fanboy of DMC and NG2 but ill have a look at this.

I like some originality in my games.A bit of creative flare etc.Just a matter of taste i suppose,i just do not like to see tried and tested genre formulas being churned out again and again with a different coat of paint.

God of war was pretty much the pinnacle of that type of game, anything after that needs to add something fresh to actually be a new and exciting title.
