War and Ruin will ”take care“ of the whistleblower who sang about it prematurely, and subsequently release on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Wii U and PC
Vienna, AUSTRIA - July 28, 2016: Today Nordic Games officially announced Darksiders Warmastered Edition coming to PC, PlayStation®4 (PS4™) and Xbox One, the all-in-one games and entertainment system from Microsoft, and Nintendo Wii U.
The release for all platforms is set for October 25th 2016, and it will retail for USD/EUR 19.99, and GBP 14,99, respectively. Darksiders Warmastered Edition is being developed by the experienced developers at KAIKO, who have already been involved with some of Nordic Games’ projects in the past, like the Xbox One Version of Darksiders II Deathinitive Edition and Legend of Kay Anniversary (all platforms).
Comparison shots between the original and the Warmastered Edition will be published early next week.
"We had a short-lived epidemic of premature emancipation, causing the affected persons to burp out sensitive info a little sooner than planned,” says Philipp Brock, PR & Marketing Director at Nordic Games, and continues “but after a minor surgery and some medication, we got it all under control.”

About Darksiders Warmastered Edition:
Deceived by the forces of evil into prematurely bringing about the end of the world, War – the first Horseman of the Apocalypse – stands accused of breaking the sacred law by inciting a war between Heaven and Hell. In the slaughter that ensued, the demonic forces defeated the heavenly hosts and laid claim to the Earth.
Brought before the sacred Charred Council, War is indicted for his crimes and stripped of his powers. Dishonored and facing his own death, War is given the opportunity to return to Earth to search for the truth and punish those responsible.
Hunted by a vengeful group of Angels, War must take on the forces of Hell, forge uneasy alliances with the very demons he hunts, and journey across the ravaged remains of the Earth on his quest for vengeance and vindication.
§ Apocalyptic Power – Unleash the wrath of War, combining brutal attacks and
supernatural abilities to decimate all who stand in your way
§ Extreme Arsenal – Wield a devastating arsenal of angelic, demonic and Earthly
weapons; and blaze a trail of destruction atop Ruin, War’s fiery phantom steed
§ Epic Quest – Battle across the wastelands and demon-infested dungeons of the
decimated Earth in your quest for vengeance and redemption
§ Character Progression – Uncover powerful ancient relics, upgrade your weapons,
unlock new abilities, and customize your gameplay style
§ Battle Heaven and Hell – Battle against all who stand in your way - from war-weary
angelic forces to Hell’s hideous demon hordes

Don't want to discourage anyone that's interested, but never played. But these games are really old game design-wise, you can see a lot of potential for greatness in some mechanics, but they are brought down by simple-minded execution and lack of ambition. The story is very simple and predictable and the gameplay just isn't fun.
I don't want to say more about the Darksiders games, other than they're not worth the time. There are so much more better games out there that actually deserve a remaster far more than this.

I hope this time the game actually looks better when remastered, darksiders 2 remaster I am looking at you.
Also, Darksiders 1 is very cheap - unless they upped the price to discourage people from buying the old version before this new remaster, but I don't think they did this - so you can buy it just to try and it also runs on any 8 year old hardware. So you can at least see if it's worth your time. Or you can wait for the Warmastered edition and do the same.
My negative experience with the games had more to do with some game design choices and simple execution than anything else. Not gonna mention them here because it would get too long. Though it should be noted that I play a lot of retro games and maybe I'm just tired of old game design choices, which I admit not having the same patient for it like I used to have a few years back. I suppose that with age you start hating when your time is wasted for no good reason other than that a developer just wanted to make you do something for whatever stupid reason or didn't think more throughly about the systems they were creating.
Still, don't take my word for it, like I said, try it for yourself and see if you like it or not. As you can see from some of the comments here, other people liked the Darksiders games. And for what it's worth, Darksiders 1 has a Steam score of "Very Positive" with 89% of 7,275 user reviews being positive. Darksiders 2 has a Steam score of "Mostly Positive" with 72% of 2,087 user reviews being positive. And the average MetaCritic score of both Darksiders 1 and 2 is 83 out of 100, so you might end up liking them a lot.

It should be noted that the Steam overall user score of Darksiders 2 should be on par with Darksiders 1, because Darksiders 2 got a lot of bad user reviews after the "Deathinitive Edition" launched last November because the developer behind the remaster did a bad job and took months to fix some of the issues, with others being left unfixed till this day. So that affected the overall score a lot, but since you can't buy Darksiders 2 on PC without it being the Deathinitive Edition - they no longer sell the original Darksiders 2 version on Steam, it's something to keep in mind since the remaster's technical problems might affect your experience more than the game itself and that would be the fault of the remaster's developers, not the developers of the game itself.
I myself played the original Darksiders 2 from 2012 if that matters, because I don't have the DLCs for the free upgrade to the Deathinitive Edition and at the time it was playing horrible even for high-end PCs with GTX 980 Ti GPUs and i7-6700K CPUs - this particular problem seems to have been fixed, so I didn't think it was worth paying more for it.
I really hope this allows Darksiders 3 to be a reality that would be very cool, I hope so I guess good sales are going to matter.
