There are already the Bunny-style swimsuits as a pre-order bonus, now Tecmo Koei shows the premium swimsuits (for the female characters) that come with the Collector Edition of Dead or Alive 5.

I really don't like DaA girls. They look like sex dolls a ronery sarary man humps in his 2x2 apartment.
I lol'd. Really.
Yeah i kinda agree though, but a lot of games suffer from the same problem. All the women look teh same because if you put any kind of character traits in heir face they don't look like super models anymore and we can't fucking have that, now can we?
Then agian, it's no secret that DoA caters to horny and ronery japanese boys :P
The appearance that this game suffers from that you're talking about, is that this game tries to get as close to natural anatomy as they can. Since video games are incapable they come across as real dolls.
Real dolls are attempting the same thing. Hence the comparison.
You agreed with the person who made the initial statement/joke right?
Other than their odd faces I think the anatomy is pretty damned close.
Nothing? faces are still stylized but the bodies are perfectly sculpted representations of female bodies. We need to get past this discussion anyway. the fact is this is a video game, they are going to look doll-like especially if they are established characters and not new characters made to look as real as possible. Its seems that no matter how detailed and amazing the models are, it always ends up being about how they look like dolls.

Err...no. No they are not. Proportions, skin folds/creases an details are all wrong. They are not eve close to photorealistic and you could get way closer on current console hardware. If you think this is close to real, please look up some female anatomy references, cause i'm assuming you don't actualy own any books on the subject.

I didnt say they look photo realistic, I said they have bodies that represent a perfectly sculpted human female, in the same way that some dolls do. Youre telling me you havent seen some cute japanese model that has a body like one of these? There are.
and there are a near infinite number of variations in any human body, the point is there isnt anything about the body (not face) of these characters that seems alien with what is possible in real life, hence why the nothing like real humans comment makes no sense.
It will probably take at least one more generation until digital women look realistic enough to be considered atttractive. I mean it's funny when you're playing this drunk with a buddy but I wouldn't buy a collectors edition just for some costumes.

Shoulders appear where they should, elbows, hips, knees, wrists, fingers, hands, feet
I'm not going to expect wrinkles or creases in the skin because the technology isn't there to animate those things.
1. It's about looking good, not being good, like in any other kind of entertainment.
2. Nobody in the Delta squad looked nothing like human in terms of anatomy, but they look awesome and the game kicks ass.
3. These chicks are ninjas and assassins with big boobs in a bikini and all speak Japanese. They fly like they're on the Moon and some even teleport. Why does the human anatomy in particular so perfect in that context?
4. If you want a fighting game with real female human body in photorealistic look, then go get a copy of Bikini Karate Babes.

By that logic Street Fighter 4 is going for realistic characters, so whats our freaking point?
These charaters look like stylized humans, they are in no way, shape or form realistic though. They look like plastic dolls, not becasue of technical klimits but because that's the aeshetiuc of the game.
And most importantly (personally), Megido's words on the proportion is pretty vague (just "wrong"). He is just pointing out what seems to be safe to say without the knowledge of anatomy.
I'm guessing that these characters are at least a heador two too tall, which kinda screws everything else up as well. Normal is something like 7 heads tall, i'm guessing these chicks are at least 8 heads tall. If you use proper human anatomy people tend to think the characters look stocky and dumpy. That aside i think muscle definition, placement and fat placement is seriously lacking in these tube-armed figurines. Again, i'm not sying it looks bad becasue of that, just that it's not at all realistic.
Though i do think itäs somewhat boring to look at. But that's just my opinion, if you like it that's fine. Just don't call it realistic.
Glad I already pre-ordered this. My first pre-ordered game in a year :D
To me it seems every girl has gotten the eyes of some movie- or rockstar. They all seem totally different from their former looks, but their eyes see so familiar ... weird

In my initial post I called it an attempt and said the anatomy was close. I never called it realistic in the sense that I said they nailed it. Neither was Xion.
I'm really beginning to hate the artwork in this game. And no, the female characters look nothing like a real person, face nor body. These look like cheap mis-shaped plastic things you might buy at a novelty shop.

Well, not the best choice for the colors of Ayanes (why puke-green?) pants and top combo, but her face is eeeeepic and beautiful. :)
