I loved the first and i god damn love zombies but for some reason im not warming to the trailer, tbh IMO (my opinion so don't have a fit!) it looks a tad boring! and seen that, done that worn the blood stained t-shirt etc.

Well i expect more of the same. Thats really what i want tbh and thats what i expected when this was announced. New weapons, new area, new ways to kill, more zombies. The moose head is win. My only real issue with the first one was the save system and i think they'll address that this time around:)

Can't watch trailer but the images look nice. If they can get rid of the loading times and fix the save system + AI, then I'm all in! (Oh what a pun!)

Better ragdoll? The first one didn't have any ragdoll at all. Adding ragdoll was my most wanted improvement for this sequel but I still can't quite tell from the trailer if it's in or not.

Ha, don't hold your breath for ragdolls on this one- that number of characters with ragdoll calculations at the same time... your machine would explode! I doubt a high end PC could do it without a Physics card, and even then, thats a TON of math...

I agree with what you're saying, but think about it this way, not every zombie on screen would be ragdolling at the same time. It would only be a select few at a time that could be hit within your weapons reach. I'm no programmer, but that certainly seems like it should be possible.

the ONE thing I want which to me would stop this game from being boring, is an infinite mode where the food placements were completely random, as it was bloody boring and basically led to food camping. I preferred the 72hrs mode due to less stingy weapon placements etc also but the survivors rescuing thing was atrocious. Loved the game on my 1st play through but once I got to lvl 50 and completed the game (albeit over 20hrs) I have never been able to get the will the play it again. Was great but soon died off.

When saving at the wrong time makes continuing with the game utterly impossible... then it's bad. Fix the saving, get rid of the loading and get rid of the time limits, then you've got win. Co-op would be awesome but I'm not holding my breath.

Some interesting infos from the IGN preview:
If you thought the hundreds of zombies on screen at one time in Dead Rising was a lot, prepare yourself for a whole lot more. Dead Rising 2 will offer over 7,000 zombies on screen at one time. I saw it and it looks exactly how you would expect an entire city block filled with undead to appear. It's not just a visual trick either. Capcom proved this by hopping on a motorcycle and tearing through the crowd, leaving a trail of death in its path. Run back through the path and you'll find that all of the dead zombies are still there. For the sequel, the bodies won't disappear until you leave the area.

Perhaps the most important technical improvement comes in the control department. Some may have noticed that the shooting controls in some Capcom games can be a bit wonky. For Dead Rising 2, Blue Castle Games is switching it up a bit by providing an over-the-shoulder shooting stance that offers full strafing and aiming capabilities.

If getting up close and personal with the zombies is more your thing, there's some new tech for you too. Blue Castle Games has added a procedural slicing mechanic. What that means is that if you slice a zombie across the torso with a sword, the zombie will split at that point. Wherever the zombies get cut is where the damage will appear.
Hopefully they will show some gameplay of it at E3...

Might be a cool game, but as for the graphics i think the lighting looks reallllly ugly and wierd.. Not cartoonish, but not fitting for the horror-style either. Some wierd in-between thing.
Frankly Left 4 Dead looks better.

BUT...... 7000 zombies? Amazing graphics for that number of zombies, if its true =)

Actually the computer only has to calculate the ragdolls while they are falling, when they come to a complete stop on the ground they enter a "rested" state, no more calculations.
So as long as you dont kill more than 20-40 dudes at the same time before they hit the ground, it shouldnt be a problem.
