Trailer Xbox 360

Tequila Works has released the first gameplay trailer for their cinematic action-platformer game Deadlight. Set in an alternate 80s apocalyptic world, players will take on the role of the survivor Randall Wayne. Exclusive to the Xbox Live Arcade, it will be available this Summer.

During the last couple of years we've got so many games of this sort and style that it doesn't feel quite as unique anymore. However, I think this kindof getting away with it as it's build up by polygons rather than having that painted look. Even though that probably will result in some jaggies (especially if it's using UE3 but I'm not sure on that one) I actually see that as a plus in this case.

Looks stylish and cool overall. Hope the gameplay will hold up.

Looks like a combination of a 2D plattformer and a survival horror game. I'm interested.

It looks better than the current Resident Evil, put it that way.

It's a shame that some of these "lesser" arcade titles show more imagination and inventiveness than fully-fledged full priced titles. The atmosphere in this looks fantastic. It reminds me of the old 2d side scrollers like Another World, Flashback and the PSX Oddworld games. It's a pity we won't get a serious zombie survival horror game in this kind of style where the world is completely open with random potential dangers of hordes of undead around corners. I'll tell you one thing: if the next gen of consoles is more of the same in terms of unimaginative genre as this one i.e FPS overkill, then they can keep it. I won't be involved.

Yes i'd agree that there's just too many of these but really just too many games on xbla. Most of is decent i guess but decent bores me. Maybe it's because i've gamed now for so long that i really can't see the point of the same game essentially reskined with additions that in truth are mostly as pointless as the games themselves. There are some excellent games this gen and i've played some genuinely great games like Bayonetta, but the industry should have advanced somehat by now. I don't suppose it will though for a number of obvious reasons

This next gen has a lot of making up to do if i'm to be interested. Better graphics alone mean very little to me. Personally athough i can understand why, i'd rather this current gen had advanced somewhat regards to aproaching proper thinking AI, but there has been zero attempt here even and some of which far lesser machines could manage actually with some a little smoke and mirror maybe and prior behind the scene thinking calculation- surely easy enough for next gen if it does in fact provide more power here as well. Personally i think we're not even close to the potential of a new form of game like we should be seeing and in fact way behind where a lot of people wanted it to be by now

After I Am Alive, this looks much more predictable. That game has changed my views on survival in games forever.

Just played the demo of that. Can't say it wowed me much, reminded me a lot of Disaster report, only less japanese and a bit less clunky (yet still REALLY clunky) doesnt feel like it's worth a tenner to me, but if it drops to about a fiver some time in the next year i'll give it a go.

As for this. I want a PSN release.

I agree! While watching this video I thought I was looking at a 2D version of I'm Alive hehe.
I also like the camera distance and with the shadowy characters from that distance ...and with the lightning striking from the background ...omg it does look like flashback too LOL

If you like the mechanics, there's enough content and exploration there. It's a huge downloadable game, the scale is massive when you get to explore the mall with lots of backtracking and Silent Hill style map where you etch out blocked paths, and where you've been.

When it comes on Steam hopefully, I can see it getting a lot of traction.

That's highly unlikely since this is an Xbox 360 exclusive published by Microsoft.

When you say "this kind of style" do you mean 2D gameplay? If not then you should check out a game due out sometime this year that's currently called Class 3, I think it might be what you're looking for:

Unfortunately it's going to be an XBLA game but I only say unfortunately as I prefer owning physical discs, because this is one of the big exclusives that's the same as a regular disc game but Microsoft are clearly pushing digital distribution now and are releasing a lot of big exclusives on XBLA rather than on disc. :(

And Alan Wake..

But in terms of XBLA.. a lot of titles get published by Microsoft because you need a large publisher to back you to get on XBLA.
