Press release Xbox 360 PS3

505 unveils Deep Black, an underwater action game. This third person shooter is planned for a Q1 release on PS3 and Xbox 360. More info in the press release.

Press release:

Agoura Hills, CA – July 8, 2010 – 505 Games today announced a global agreement with Russian developer Biart Studio LLC, to publish Deep Black on the Xbox 360TM video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system platforms.

Set to release in Q1 2011, the unique underwater setting of Deep Black combines action-packed battles with an immersive story line that blends science-fiction, espionage and bio-terror. Realistic underwater physics add intensity to this third-person action thriller.

With the majority of the gameplay taking place below the water’s surface, action-adventure fans will need to master new skills to fight hostile enemies and infiltrate enemy bases. Players will take to the murky depths armed with equipment ranging from specialized underwater jet packs with integrated harpoons, mini submersibles and other high-tech equipment to battle their submerged enemies.

Oh, so this is the action version of Hydroponic?

Just hope it has believable physics, like that game.

Hopefully they will have more than bubbles floating in the water. There should be all kinds of particles, and they could create a ton of different atmospheric settings...

A whole game based underwater? Sounds like an absolute nightmare.

This is my nightmare, and i mean that literally. Not because underwater levels are horrible, but because i genuinely have a fear of the sea. In Tombraider Underworld i probably stood on the boat for like 20 minutes before mustering the courage to jump. Kind of sucks that this is a game i can't play because of something so ridiculous :P

That must suck. I can understand that as only learnt to swim 6 years ago, due to fear of water. Couldn't get my head around the fact that I might be able to float. That changed when I was face down in the stuff, floating! (Had a good teacher). Interesting that your fear extends to the concept of the sea itself, regardless of form.
