I just read a preview of this game and it sounds friggin great. This game has come out of nowhere for me. Sounds like it has the mobility of Mirrors Edge and some awesome gunplay/teamwork.

The designs remind me of Shadowrun. Very cool looking game.

It looks very interesting actually, what is it? A sci-fi shooter?

I hope it doesn't suffer from the usual 'Bethesda-repetitive-environments-syndrom', but it looks very sci-fi-ish...which I love in my videogames!

I wonder though, it this game will have shadows. Bethesda don't seem to be big fans of shadows (except for characters shadows).

Edit: It seems like most objects do indeed cast shadows...welcome to the 21st century Bethesda!

This looks quite good. They seem to be taking a cue from Team Fortress 2. I hope we can see it in action soon.

This is not developed by Bethesda, nor does it use their engine.

Yeah, kind of poorly chosen words there. I meant to ask if it was a FPS, TPS or some kind of RPG/Hybrid thingy. The Sci-fi part was a given.

I guess I'm just to lazy to read up on the game and was going to abuse the willingness of people here on this forum to tell me. ;)

Brink is an upcoming first-person shooter video game being developed by Splash Damage and published by Bethesda Softworks for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The game is set for release in spring of 2010.

In the teaser trailer, it describes that there is a peaceful city named "The Ark", and that it was "their vision of the future", resulting in being the pinnacle of science and engineering. The Ark is a floating city, which was originally designed as a prototype for a perfect city, with renewable resources and no pollution. It was to only support about 5,000 people, but the population has grown to 50,000, causing a major shortage in resources, broken machinery, and no contact with the outside world. The Ark is at the brink (hence the name of the game) of a civil war. At the end of the trailer it says that The Ark is a "promise for some but not for all."

Brink is a first person shooter. It has a story mode which can be played co-operatively online with 8 a side missions. Players can create a custom character with additional rewards given with experience points. The player can choose whether they want to play as security forces or resistance. When joining a game the player replaces an AI character similar to Left 4 Dead's method.

Players when they join a game are given a list of objectives; these objectives can be selected from a wheel. When you select an objective your team mates are alerted and can then choose to help you with that objective as an option on their wheel. As objectives are completed for the rebels the security forces must try and slow them down as much as possible to stop them winning the mission.

Still no gameplay footage from Quakecon? I only found 2 "character customization"-videos on YouTube..... looks really good and I love the design. It sucks that the audience was told to stop filming when they showed the gameplay.

it does, i dont get how showing a game publically to everyone is any different then showing it to a crowded room of people at quakecon. if the games impressive it's going to be percieved as such, no matter how many people see it.

i've read some impressions on the game now and it kinda sounds a bit like the club in the way it's structured...the levels being called maps/arenas etc. which is great for a multiplayer game, i just hope it stands up well in single player. last thing i want is a UE3 standard storyline.

i also hope the game has split screen co-op.
