Atari just announced that Simbin's Race Pro is delayed, and will hit Xbox 360 in January 2009. A demo is planned to be released before christmas, and here are some images from the game.
If this turn outs to be like their PC games, it's going to be the definitive sim on consoles. GT:s and Forzas aren't even close when it comes to simulation. Waiting for this very much indeed. Just hope that MS would allow to use any thirdparty wheel. Their own offering is only passable.
Actually it looks better than I expected. Simbin has just released GTR Evolution for PC and the graphics are really outdated because they are still using the same old engine. Hopefully they will apply some AA because that's really lacking in those screens.
True, compared to the PC offerings this is slightly better, not a whole lot though. I expect this will be a full sim, but I hope it's a fun game.

On another note, is this game even going to be worth playing without some support for 3rd party steering wheels? I'm no expert on this, but I've read up on some worried fans about the aledged crappy 360 steering wheel and the lack of support for good ones (G25 etc).

I sold the 360 wheel because it's crap compared to G25 and im not willing to buy it again just because of this game, so i will pass.
This looks WAY better than that. This one has reflections on the cars, shadow mapping (shows up on the dashboard in the Race Pro shots). It's just that this doesn't compare well to any other console racer out right now.

Did you really just say Forza Motorsport 2 is Arcadish and is comparable to PGR and GT5P? You must be out of your mind.
Forza is the most realistic console racing game you can buy as of right now. It uses the most advanced physics and advance AI in a racing game currently available.
Comparing Forza2 and GT5:P to PGR4 is simply stupid.
Forza2 most realistic console racing game? No. It's something like GT, semi-simulator (in Forza they even didn't make an in-car view, I cannot even roll over my car in both lol). Even PS2 and Xbox has a looot more more realistic game (Richard Burns Rally) and PS3 has one of the best F1 simulators ever (and a bit forgotten and underrated one) Formula One: Championship Edition (getting best times with everything off is hardcore, not mention doing this when it rains, AI is awesome, and they made really great graphic).

Sorry to disagree but Sonys last attempt was a disaster imo. F1 cars do not feel like driving on ice. how do I know? Had the pleasure to drive the JORDAN, EJ11 last year in France on the Circuit du Var in Le Luc. It was a birthday present from my wife. Maybe (I never had the opportunity to sit in F1 car) but imo the game isn't disaster:p, Formula 1 for PS3 (compering to other F1 games) is great and I had never felt like I'm on ice, even on when there was rain I never felt like that (imo and not only my, it is still simulator, but everyone can have his own opinion).
Oh, and got one question then:), You were in F1 car, so what can You say about F1 Ferrari in GT5: Prologue? (If You played the game of course)

funny enough the disappointment of the F1 game made me sell the ps3 again. no rumble and no proper triggers just didnt feel right either. and before i buy a wheel, i rather take out my Opel GT (Saturn Sky Redline in the US) with 315 bhp, beats any video game ;)
you are right, every1 can have his opinion but if you would have driven a real F1 car, you'd also have a differnt one :)
