Deep Silver announced the Xbox 360 version of Risen a while ago, an RPG from the developers of the Gothic series (Piranha Bytes). The last release date given was end of 2009, let's hope that sticks since it looks pretty interesting. The images themselves seem all to be from the PC version.

Deep Silver, the games label of Koch Media, a leading producer and distributor of digital entertainment products, today released a new set of screenshots from the role playing epic “Risen”, developed by Piranha Bytes.

The screenshots released today give a glimpse of the diversity that “Risen” has to offer. This epic role playing game is set in a medieval world on a volcanic Mediterranean island, The “Risen” story unfolds over four chapters and will offer multiple ways to develop the story by the player’s own actions and decisions. An innovative and intuitive user control interface will support both casual and hardcore gamers. In a dynamic, streaming world, the player will experience playing in a fully simulated game environment with authentic characters and without tedious loading times.

Risen will be released for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and for Windows PC. More information about Risen at http://risen.deepsilver.com

hmm.. I'm considering buying a 360 for this game as Gothic 1+2 still are among my absolute favorite RPG/Adventure games, but first I'd need a PC demo (which I'll barely be able to play with low settings), reviews and a comparison of PC and 360 version (especially controls/bugs) to really make up my mind.

it's coming for PC as well, those shots are from the PC version.

I never played the Gothic games but, graphically, this looks really good. What can I expect from this game, both in terms of gameplay and customisation etc.?

Fable is not exactly the best example for an RPG. I wouldn't call it RPG at all, it's a hack&slash game with pretty graphics.

Damn son just don't bother. If you're that tight on money you need to go to excruciating lengths to justify the purchase for a perfectly good, critically and commercially successful console then you're probably better off just forgetting this game!

Looks sort of like a more mature , serious version of Fable. Which I like. As fun and whimsical as Fable is, I would like a more serious but not to dark and forbodding game, and this looks to fit that perfectly. Fable 2, this, and the Witcher would make a great package deal lol.

If you read the description you would see that the screens are from the PC version most likely, which brings one to assume that there is in fact a PC version, which then leads one to assume its NOT xbox only. But I'm thinking PS3 isn't in the list.

I'm interested, I liked Gothic 2 until it stopped working on my PC for some reason. Will probably get this on 360 if it turns out good.

And..em..1 Gothic is the best west RPG I've ever played..But 2,3d..something wrong with them. Didn't like.

If you guys expect a Fable or Oblivion like game I guess you will be disappointed, although I'm not sure what they will change for this game in comparison to their other works.

Really love the visual style. WRPGs don't seem to mix well with me. I like their style over JRPGs but the gameplay never sits well.
