Xbox 360 PS3

EA is really active this week, and next out is Burnout Paradise and upcoming downloadable content. Criterion published some information on the official blog, and a bunch of images. In short, the new free content released next month will add night time, dynamic weather system, 70 new challenges and bikes - fantastic for being free!

pleased to see that there are still publishers that arent trying to milk us of every penny for things they've offered pc gamers free for years. Who'd of thought it would be EA though

Pretty sure you should read the media description before submitting a worthless post.

Weather, night time, and bikes are all great additions but the game still needs a proper Crash mode added back in. The crashes are what's always made Burnout stand out from the crowd and Crash mode was always a great way to enjoy them. Still wish I knew who the idiot was that thought that piece of shit Showtime mode was a worthwhile replacement for it.

Much more color ( dhu! it's a cartoonish-realistic looking game), but not as impressive as PGR4 bikes. Still the king, baby!

I agree completely. We played Revenge just because of the awesome Crash Mode. it was almost like a strategy game, figuring out the ideal angle of attack and then putting the plan to the test. We played it by passing the controller around, drinking some beers and having a great time. I miss that... sadly, Paradise is not the game I was looking for.

So much for free. Nice.
BTW The best crash mode (IMO) was in Burnout 2: Point Of impact. You only hit and then sit and watch the mayhen (without stupid multiplers and unnecessary explosions).

I'm with most others on this, loved all the OTHER Burnout games and even despite all this free stuff, I just don't have enough incentive to buy THIS one.

To be quite honest: The SP is short and not very exciting, didn't keep me entertained that long. The online mode however is great. In the first weeks on the games release I spent well over 80 hours online with friends. It's fun to do the challenges and racing is quite good.

That said I believe it would be half the fun without friends, I stopped playing it after my friends did.

Could you choose your gender before? Looks like you might be able to now!

And wow at the free. Not because its EA, but because this is actually a decent bit of stuff. A lot of stuff that maybe should have shipped with, but its good to see their giving it for free, and a bit extra too.

All the updates have been free. I don't even think they have any pay dlc up, at least not that I could find on PSN.

I just read on 1up that riders on the bikes will simply disappear after a crash and the bikes don't even get damaged much. They actually had the nerve to say this was because of the game's teen rating. That's one of the most pathetic excuses I've ever heard, as there's countless teen shooters and Motorstorm was teen and has ragdoll drivers. EA and Criterion should be ashamed. It's just lazy programming and no doubt just a quick test for motorcycles which will probably be more prominently featured in the sequel.

And yes, I know it's free. That still doesn't excuse blatant lies about omitting something so important in a game that's big on crashes.

it was always going to be a given that the drivers would disappear though..you would never of seen bodies break. I mean the first clue was that the cars actually drive themselves in this game..there are no drivers. So i guess we should be thankfull there is a body on that bike.
