Capcom has release screenshots for Ninja Theory's Devil May Cry as well as details on Dante and his weapons.
Info:
DmC’s Dante is a young man who has no respect for authority or indeed society in general. Dante knows that he is not human, but also that he is not like the demons that have tormented him throughout his life. Caught between worlds, he feels like an outcast.
Dante grew up in various institutions, orphanages, youth correction facilities and foster homes but these were mostly operated by demons and often resulted in torture and violence. Dante has therefore developed a deep hatred of demons and authority in general but tries to stay incognito. He sides with the little guy, the victims of what he sees as an unfair society.
• Rebellion and Ebony & Ivory
In Game: The Rebellion sword was given to Dante by his father Sparda as a weapon with which he could protect himself against the demons that hunt him. How Dante came in to possession of Ebony and Ivory or where they come from is unknown.
— Design Ethos: The design philosophy behind both Rebellion and Ebony & Ivory is to create the impression that they were crafted a long, long time ago and since their creation they have sent innumerable demons to their doom.
Ebony & Ivory have straight, clean looking barrels that make them look like contemporary firearms, while the addition of ornate embossing is used to give the guns a feeling of mystique and uniqueness. As you move into the grip you can see that the guns have a more fluid, liquid-like look that adds further mystery and a demonic flavor to their design.
Rebellion is designed to look like a powerful sword, with the detailing in the handle giving it a feeling of historical significance coupled with a demonic heritage. The same design ethos that was used for the Ebony & Ivory grips is also true for Rebellion’s hilt, making the weapons match stylistically.

Hell, there are many other ways to make a good reboot of the series. Changing the main character and put an emo dude, named...Dante again, slaying things in...shitty world...this is not the right way. Not to mention the 30fps...
As a Devil May Cry fan, I understand all the angst oozing out of this thread. But to actually wish a game that in all likelihood is going to be pure awesome (despite it's misguided art direction) to have poor sales . . . some of you guys are worse than the game publishers who decided changes were necessary in the first place.
If this game is great, I hope it sells a bazillion copies, and Ninja Theory becomes the lead developers behind the next two games in the series - misguided art direction be damned! At the end of the day, the three things I do know for sure: this is a Ninja Theory game, which means it's going to be an awesome experience; I'll be getting it day one; haters gonna hate.

Fans have every right to complain about it.
FreeSwag: to me it's mainly about the name, and design. I really dislike how it looks. I just don't find it appealing at all. Now had the game been called Mr. Angsty: The Slaughteration or something, i might have been "hmm, looks like ass but maybe it plays well!" Now i'm just like "Huh, this looks nothing like DMC and doesn't seem to play like it either. It's pissing on my fandom. Sweet!"
I really don't care that they are rebooting it anymore. I was pissed off at first but i've kind of gotten to grips with it. I understand why they'd want to reboot, it just doesn't appeal to me anymore, which i find a bit disappointing. Great for you guys who don't mind, a bit of a loss for us who like DMC the way it was. I kinda wish they'd keep on evolving the gameplay from DMC4, the revving and devil arm thing were good ideas. If they'd just flesh the other weapons and stuff out and made a full game, that would rock imo.
Basically, DMC4 was good, the core was all there, they just didn't have time to finish teh game (at elast that's what i head. They got half way through, realized they only had haf the game done and no dev time left....copy-paste that shit!)
