Xbox Live Arcade got another two titles today, and one of them was Disney Interactive Studios Discs of Tron. The game has both an enhanced mode and the original graphics mode, and in the video you'll see the latter. It also offers a big bunch of multiplayer modes, including the classical Versus mode and a co-op mode, plus many others.

Also, I'm sorry about the video quality. I have no idea how 2 minute of video could become 4 mb (even though it's like 5 colors), it hasn't happened before. I'll check out my codec settings.
There were tons of great games before 85, everything from Pac Man to Donkey Kong to Robotron 2084 to Defender. There's too many noobs in gaming these days that only want a story or really fancy graphics...
When they put Chase HQ on XBLA with full steering wheel support, I'll be truly happy!
:o)
OT I know, but when is Ikaruga being released? That is defo my next purchase (already grabbed SOR2, awesome!)
Games from way back, like this, often feature simplistic gameplay that most likely won't satisfy me. The only reason i still love games like Kid Icarus and Super Mario Bros. is because i grew up playing them. If you gave Kid Icarus to a kid today he'd laugh at it and wonder who made such a crappy game. Same goes for this, i never played this at (or closer too) launch and as such it holds very little appeal for me. Even if it was a superb game for it's time, that means absolutely nothing today. At least not for me.
We never had anything other than school to worry about, other people bought us the games anyway, they cost as little as £1.99 each, piracy was less (even though all you had to do technically was to copy tape to tape) and you could buy a game just about anywhere, from W.H.Smiths to woolies.
For £39.99 - £69.99 +, I would certainly expect the games to be as good as they are now, if not better.
So far, this industry has swallowed thousands of hours and alot of our prescious money, from pc`s, to tv`s, then HD monitors, cables, amps, subs/decoders,console after console etc etc blah blah.
My point is, that I have a right to argue that games of this era look shoddy, not because I don`t respect them for what they are, nor have I been spoilt by better visuals etc, but mainly because after dedicating nearly 30 years of my life to something I love so much, the time has come to realise that we fully deserve the lushness of todays games and face the facts that memories will always appear better when left in the past.
Contra, you make me sound as though I don`t respect this industry - far from the truth. I`m just telling it like it is my friend. Anyway, have you seen the scores it`s been getting?.....oh my god rofl what?.

We all love the games that we played when we were kids, i mean...i seriously have fond memories of the first Turtles game on the NES (if you never palyed it, the Angry Nintendo Nerd sums the whole game up pretty good on youtube). But let's face it..after about 17-18 years of gaming i'd have to agree with frosty, we do deserve good graphics and immersive experiences. Now i have respect for this in a historical manner, this is the history of my favorite pastime, but that does not per default make it good gaming with todays standards.
