Disgaea 3 clearly is not going to win prizes for its wondrously low resolution sprites, but it terms of creativity and "WTF" it's certainly up there. SRPG fans will definitely enjoy this game and its "Stupid hard levels".
As much as I'm not a graphics whore especially given the size of the team that made this game, I do have to wonder about something very peculiar. Like, why the sprites are incredibly low res but the backgrounds are much higher. Like much much higher. It's really jarring to have such a huge difference.
The game doesn't seem to innovate that much on franchise gameplay-wise, and graphically it looks nearly the same as the PS2 games, which looked okay at best.
I've beaten the 1st game, but grew tired of the gameplay after constantly grinding and raising stats after a while. It's great for fans of the franchise, but it won't draw in new people simply because the graphics looks so bad for a PS3 game.
thats because the environments are 3D and the characters are for some reason still 64X128 sprites (or something) why they couldn't up-rez these beggars belief!
Wow. So I'm a big Disgaea fan, and I really do think Nippon should have actually made some higher-res sprites. As much as I'm gonna get it day one, I think it's sad to have put so little effort into the visual category, especially to which makes the sprites stand out drastically. It almost hurts my eyes at times. Hopefully Disgaea 4 will be prettier.
Always count on Japan to create unique games. The plot for this game is probably the most refreshing of any game in 2008. But I'm sure kids today won't even look past the graphics.

As much as i like Disgaea -and i like it a lot-, i think i ll stick to the PSP version now (the game is perfect for the machine). Sure i want to know the story, but i guess i ll wait for another 5 years and see it on the next handheld.

very few with religious beliefs are naive or zealots, but for sure don't find amusing their beliefs being thrown in for clout. maybe STFU with that discourse? (2 Weeks ago)

Pretty sure Loakum was making fun of religious naive people who thought that God and Trump have a good connection. And the most recent "Bruh..." means "Bruh, don't you get my sarcasm?" (3 Weeks ago)

Really curious as to what went behind the scenes.
