PS3

Here is the introduction video for the strategy game Disgaea 3, an exclusive Playstation 3 title. Entirely produced with a japanese anime style, the video reveals many characters from other titles developed by Nippon Ichi such as Phantom Brave, La Pucelle and other entries in the Disgaea universe : will you be able to identify them?

Well... that was certainly... odd. Can't wait for the game though.

I love it! I really do. The whole musical thing was just brilliant! If it weren't for the fact that it looks like a PS2 game I'd definitely pick this one up. Too bad about the graphics really. I mean, you'd think they'd stop recycling graphics when switching to a new platform but no, obviously not.

Any ways, the heart seems to be in the right place, o maybe this is one of those games i'll get when the price has dropped to a reasonable level.

NIS games have never been about graphics. They've been about memorable characters, beautiful art, and deep gameplay. If you don't care about that, then don't bother with this series. Personally, I can't wait for Disgaea 3.

Synce: I know that Disgaea has a great sense of humor and charming characters and a great system and loads of stuff to do but still...i just can't justify forking out full price for a game where they didn't even try to make it look nice. If it was sold at a lower price i would most certainly pick it up. Not att full retail price though. The way i see it you get back what you put in, and in this case much seems to be recycled and as such i don't think it's worth investing 85 bucks in it (yes, we have ridiculous prices for games here). None the less, i bet it will be a great game.

That was awful .. :S

And sync yea thats all well and good, but this games graphics still belongs on the PS2 whichever way you look at it.

NIS can do better than this and we all know it.

It's nice for some, cause it's exclusive... their only reason, mostly.
I just don't conceive how trash ( graphic wise ) like this, can't be made multi-plataform.

it's quite a shame ,that they didn't design the game in 1080p - if it wasn't so pixellated it would look quite fine in my opinion

I am a major Disgaea fan, and I'm so tempted in picking up the importing copy, even though I know limited Japanese (Only the basics I learned in class... then again, I did understand the cinematics in the Yakuza: Kenzan demo). In any case, I'm really looking forward to this game... now when will Nis America announce it'll officially be coming? =)

I just wish that NiS at least used high res character models. This game could be done on the PS2 and there is no reason why it should be a PS3 release. PS2 games are still selling pretty well.

Not really anything to 'get' in the video. So you actually got it, and should feel bad deep inside.

Wait, why is this on the PS3? PS2's still doing fine, like with Persona 3 and other high-quality anime RPGs. I'm so confused, and why EXCLUSIVE?

If I developed that game I would be ashamed of myself, especially releasing it on PS3. No one in their right mind would buy this unless it was a cheap PSN title.
Much better off releasing this on PS2 or even PSP...
