Bethesda has unveiled the worldwide release date of DOOM: May 13th 2016. Two new screenshots, there's a new gameplay trailer but unavailable outside Youtube. We'll try to get it in high quality for you but no promsises as Bethesda seem to have ditched HQ videos for the press.

More than likely we'll see a complete rendition of the original two games in next to no time with the modern engine, which is great. The game should be very moddable, although I'm not sure about enemy models. The damage they take seems to be very dynamic, so that could possibly pose some problems with custom meshes.

The newest trailer of Doom makes it look like it only consists of "cool" scripted takedowns. Hope the trailers gameplay doesn't reflect the final game.

I just don't have much confidence in id anymore. They don't even know how to handle Quake Live. I'm putting all my eggs in the Unreal basket at this point. I feel like it has the best shot at offering a legitimately solid, legitimately oldschool arena experience. I actually feel like it's pretty close to delivering that already and it's mostly a bunch of untextured WIPs.
