different engines...Mass Effect is Unreal engine 3 while Dragon's Age runs on an unnamed Bioware engine...

I enjoyed Dragon Age, put 40 hours in it, so I guess I will pick this up down the road for $20 or so

Gonna play it anyway, but yeah graphics don't impress me at all and it's really stupid of them to pick such a boring and ugly location for their screens. At least I hope I won't have to force AA as with Mas Effect....

Well, in comparison to the many RPGs coming out this year - which are similarly fantasy-themed as well - this is probably the ugliest. So yeah, it is kinda important.

It looks way better than the original game, and plays a lot better. Not to mention the fact that this is the console version.

All Im saying is that DA2 graphics are decent, still it looks better that DA:O to me.

I really suggest that people check this 50 minutes long video of the devs playing the game and answering questions. Looks really good actually.

This game supposedly utilizes DX11. I however, don't see it in the screens. But the demo is out next week, so I should be to see if that is true.

you dont like better animations? better character models? better combat? more gore?

I think is will be a solid 3x or 4x better than Origins.

You get rewarded with a dumbed down conversation system, a crappy looking UI, and scaled back tactical gameplay. I think there is enough there to have some worries. Hopefully, the demo can ease some of them.

No, it doesn't. You no longer have the overview perspective nor do you have the same dialogue system. In fact, the dialogue system is dumbed down to Mass Effect levels; you effectively get three choices: good, neutral, or bad. Which makes for a boring conversation system.

I dont know about that overview perspective, I play on the 360, but thats not a combat gameplay feature at all, gameplay as in what you do in the game is the exact same as Origins, you pause, you issue commands to party members and so on.

As for the other stuff well thats like your opinion man, ME conversation system works great.

PC version its not the only one you seem to forget as others too.

The ME conversation system is boring as it effectively limits the conversations you could have. Be a complete asshole, be a righteous person, or just be neutral. The original Dragon Age had more choices to be the kind of person you wanted to be (The Witcher does it better though) and it felt like a fresh difference from Mass Effect.
