I honestly love that more and more developers are starting to do this, if the original developers or publishers won't do those franchises legacy any justice, might as well let other very passionate developers who are fans of the originals do them.
Just like Sonic Mania and The Outer Worlds, the more this is done, the better. An IP and the lore are still just that, might as well use everything else that made those franchises great in the first place and create new games.
As long as they are great, who gives a fuck about the IP or lore, those are already dead anyway. At least this way their legacy and the experience of playing those games lives on through new franchises. An amazing "passing of the torch" from one generation to the next, so to speak.
True fans of those franchises who have been abandoned and ignored for years and years finally get to win something. I'm all for it.
