David Jones, creator of the first GTAs and Crackdown, said hello yesterday in the Electronic Arts booth and showed us a short video of his latest baby, the very ambitious APB - All Points Bulletin. It showcases the endless possibilities of the customization interface of the game, and it's frankly impressive. In comparison, games like Saints Row 2 now look like they went out ten years ago.

That's really outstanding customization.

Putting together your customized APB avatar or vehicle with Natal, will be just like Tom Cruise doing his thing in Minority Report. For that matter, since Natal uses 3D cameras, you could just scan a 3 dimensional version of yourself in, and customize that.
When all the customization is done, the rest of the game can simply be played with a regular controller. For people without Natal, I am more than sure that EA will get the customization tool mapped to the standard 360 controller just fine - think the level editor in FarCry 2, or the customization tools in Forza Motorsport. But even so, I would not be surprised to see an alternative control set for optimizations set up to run with Natal, if this game ships next year.
The customization looks awesome, hope the gameplay will match it. Or rather that the graphics engine will cope with it, instead of like in so many other games, leaving you with blurry textures on everyone while it loads for 5 min :P
