Video PC Xbox 360 PS3

David Jones, creator of the first GTAs and Crackdown, said hello yesterday in the Electronic Arts booth and showed us a short video of his latest baby, the very ambitious APB - All Points Bulletin. It showcases the endless possibilities of the customization interface of the game, and it's frankly impressive. In comparison, games like Saints Row 2 now look like they went out ten years ago.

Negative. It was originally going to WebZen and now it looks like EA is doing it. They haven't even made platform announcements so far as I'm aware, outside of the PC.

Must have gotten mixed up since MS showed this at one of their press conferences before.

If they're keeping that kind of character detail in-game, it will be a real technical milestone.

Looking great as always. Games like this, GT5, and Alan Wake are so frustrating though. They've basically been vaporware with no signs of a release date and were all announced and shown WAY too early. At least Alan Wake finally has a release window of Spring 2010. Can't wait to play them someday!

It's an MMO cops and robbers game. Choose your side....

The car and character look very good. But when this is running in some kind of open world (don't know this game's concept at all) the detail will likely have to be turned down a notch.

that won't be a problem, an interface will probably be worked out and streamlined for the 360.

(don't know this game's concept at all)
As I mentioned, it's MMO/open world/3rd person shooting/driving/cops and robbers style.

awesome character design. Really need to see some gameplay of this now. And see just how an mmo will work when not hunting little creatures to get your level up

If APB doesn't come out until 2010, then they can map the full range of customization controls to Project Natal. EA has gone on record stating they have been playing with Project Natal for well over a year now (LINK). And according to Engadget's play test of Natal, EA already had Burnout Paradise running on it (LINK). So, there is a very good possibility that come next year . . . who knows.

Putting together your customized APB avatar or vehicle with Natal, will be just like Tom Cruise doing his thing in Minority Report. For that matter, since Natal uses 3D cameras, you could just scan a 3 dimensional version of yourself in, and customize that.

When all the customization is done, the rest of the game can simply be played with a regular controller. For people without Natal, I am more than sure that EA will get the customization tool mapped to the standard 360 controller just fine - think the level editor in FarCry 2, or the customization tools in Forza Motorsport. But even so, I would not be surprised to see an alternative control set for optimizations set up to run with Natal, if this game ships next year.

That person has to be the most annoying person ive ever heard, im sorry if its a gamersyde staff member :P
The customization looks awesome, hope the gameplay will match it. Or rather that the graphics engine will cope with it, instead of like in so many other games, leaving you with blurry textures on everyone while it loads for 5 min :P
