PS3

The fans of Killzone 2, and there are many of them, will certainly be delighted to get a new version (all in one) of our E3 videos of the game, reencoded in 720p resolution and properly deghosted. Others are advised to just ignore this news and not troll in the comments. You know who you are.

Sweet!

if they get the AI right, and enough gameplay variety through SP, this could turn out to be a very good game.

i think one of the best things about this game is actually the sound.. it really does sound like the shits hit the fan.

AI..worrying. Its so good that you can mess up and they'll kill themselves so as not to inconvience you.

Graphics as pretty as ever. Really would like to see some variety in the levels locations though as it pretty much all looks the same so far.

Awesome. Glad to see they fixed the horrendous orange color. And added a tiny bit of all the other colors

Looking pretty good. Its not Crysis, and it looks like a polished, more pleasing CoD 4. Textures aren't the best up close, especially where they seem to think they can get away with some pretty crappy ones. Beyond that it is pleasing looking. Gameplay isn't looking terribloy unique, but its hard to tell with a shooter till you play it, so I'll have to wait till I get a PS3 to try it out! But I'm worried that Sony might push out another Haze. Staying optomistic though.

excellent graphics, AI needs extra work, but why do people say gears is grey (vivid) yet this game makes gears look like it was painted with rainbow colours.

What's with all the COD4 references?? They're both great looking games, but are completely different graphic styles and make for a poor comparison.

I wouldn't worry about AI. It actually looked ok even in this unfinished state, plus trade show demos are usually on easy difficulties. Only thing I didn't like was the MUCH OVERUSED blur effects. Even a small, slow turn when behind cover blurred his gun. That looked bad and unrealistic.

Overall it still looks amazing and I really hope it doesn't get delayed again.

Sony had no hand in HAZE. That's all on Free Radical and Ubisoft (both 3rd party).

Too bad I don't own a PS3. Hoping for a PC-version, but that's not very likely I think.
SOE has no hand in it so PS3 is your only bet.

Probably because of the obivous use of the same depth of field, blur, and lighting effects which made CoD4 such a good looking game aswell..

I like the colourscheme they use in Killzone 2.. Mainly grey with green and red effects that stand out.. It gives the game it's own distinctive look..

Looks really epic, huge battles going on. Too bad it's still pre-alpha! When will they get to Beta?! :P

P.S. How does this look anything like CoD 4? Maybe I need to check my eyes or something...

Doesn't every next-gen FPS use those FX? If anything, this looks more like a great war game, except it's sci-fi. Man, I wish Halo 3 was this epic and felt more like the Live Action shorts. Sorry, off-topic :P

I'd seriously start worrying about the A.I in this game, it's horrible! And it has nothing to do with difficulty...a misunderstanding I've been seeing a lot lately.

The A.I doesn't take cover, even if there's cover right next to them, they go sitting right beside it or in front of it. They also have the tendency to just barge forward into a group of enemies without taking a single shot, instead going for a melee attack.

Yeah...great A.I indeed. :{

The A.I doesn't have to be top notch for me to enjoy it, but it has to rise above 'complete moronic' though. The game looks fantastic, gameplay looks tight and intense. If they can make the enemy A.I to take cover and act a little less as complete tools...this could turn out great!

It really does look good, I'd say it's the amazing motion blur and god rays.

It'll be interesting to see how this one turns out.

I do agree with Jato to some extent the AI does need work, because its the only thing lacking in this game at the moment.

Still there is plenty of time to fine tune stuff like that.

Graphics are looking very nice :D

I'm really sick and tired of the people complaining about a few AI slip ups.
The people claiming that the AI is "terrible" or even "poor" dont know what the hell they are talking about. Full stop.
The Helghast arent stupid, it's just easy for the player to overwhelm their tactics with brute force running and gunning because the reduced difficulty (it's "normal") allows him (the player) to take a generous amount of damage.
The AI is fine, if you are actually observant, you can even spot the AI thinking one step ahead of the player.
I'd be happy to point out instances of the AI doing smart things.....lemme download this video and I will give you the exact times these sort of things happen so you can see for yourself.

Oh really? The AI doesnt take cover?

That is total bullshit, my friend.

48 second mark: Player exits cover with rocket launcher to confront the two approaching Helghast. Helghast on right hand side backs up immediately and heads towards cover before being killed by the subsequent rocket.

55 second mark: Helghast fires from cover, as the player accidentally clips Garza.

1:02 mark: Helghast moves from pillar to a another cover spot, you can see him lowering himself into position at the 1:03 mark.

1:05-1:08 mark: Same Helghast engages Garza, moves back to where he was previously and reinforces his partner.

3:35 mark: Player enters area, Helghast immediately move towards a cover spot behind a pillar

4:56 mark, Helghast seek cover as player enters area, 5:05 a Helghast trooper races up a set of stairs in the far right hand corner, takes cover.

5:05 mark, player RELOADS, AS HE DOES SO, Helghast leans out from cover.
(so the Helghast recognize you are vulnerable when you reload)

5:20 Helghast throws grenade (but throws inaccurately), leans back into cover.

5:22 Helghast leans out from cover, anticipating the player's movement away from the presumed blast radius. Had the grenade been thrown accurately, the AI would have correctly anticipated the player's movements.

AI throws grenade, anticipates timed detonation, leans back into cover for two seconds, then leans out waiting for the player to exit cover and escape the grenade.
That is not horrible AI, in fact it's rather advanced AI, certainly more advanced than the type of AI you get in the majority of shooters in the market.

So there are a couple instances when the Helghast react a bit slowly or they run around a corner into your bullets..so whatÉ!!!....the difficulty is set on normal!!

You cannot determine that the AI is shit on the default difficulty. You cant do it with Halo 3, you cant do it with Uncharted, you shouldnt be doing it with Killzone. You cant even really determine if it`s good, but I just felt like showing you how totally wrong you are in your claim that the ``AI doesnt take cover.``

Well I hear that bit of misinformation a little too much. (`The AI is horrible`)
It`s a gross exaggeration and I`m tired of it. Hey, I gave you the exact times when the AI is clearly being smart, so it`s not like my rebuttal was just some nonsensical emotional appeal, right...
I dont have a problem with the AI criticism, but when it`s an egregiously false allegation repeated again and again I will lash out at it.
