Damn this is one nice looking game! If the gameplay improved this will be a AAA game for sure, if the gameplay is the same as the first dirt, well it will still be a fun game but I'll be a little let down.

Can't wait for a demo. So does this game feel like the first one or is there more weight to the cars?

I dont get why people talk about Dirt 1 as if it was a crap game lol.
Imo it was the best rally game to date, by miles. I'm sure this will be too.

I see nothing but praise for it- but I thought it was utterly trash. The graphics were very nice- the selection... all that. But the gameplay really pissed me off. It made all the cars turn from a central axis pivot. The only thing that turns like that is... the Warthog to the best of my knowledge. It takes front and back axles to make a car pivot from the center- and in DiRT- ALL cars do it. That really bothered me when I was slipping and sliding and hitting walls. It's just not accurate. And the framerate- where they did that Gladiator thing- skipping every third frame. That was jarring as well. And it's not the developer- GRID is my favorite racing game of all time- LOVE IT. So that fact that this DiRT seems to have fixed this issues- man- that's like an invite from the Pope or something. I can't WAIT!
(I hope that answers your question respectfully- I didn't want to offend or start a war- just say why "I" thought it was terrible).

it isnt even close to being the best rally game, the most accessible, americanised rally game...sure, but certainly not the best, past mcrae games where a lot better.

GRID is a game which looks nice but it lacks good gameplay. Car handling is horrible.

The 360 vers. which I'm sure is being demo'd here looks like the first game. The PC vers. should kick ass though on full settings, vissually. The physics is where it seems to have not elevated beyond the previous title though. Only a hands on demo will tell........

Seriously, McCrae 2 blows Dirt out of the water, and that game is three generations old now. Reason being that the cars actually felt like they'd weight and handled beautfifully. So tell me: how can a PSX title feel physically better than a current gen one? Dirt one had great presentation, but it was just lacking. It was sloppy work.

Turn 10 said at their Forza 3 presentation that it'ill be the best looking race out there, but you already see now it does not stand a chance against Codemasters latest racing game... and then keep in mind it's a multi-format title, and still looks so freaking stunning

True 60fps comes at a cost for sure. Dirt 1 was kinda choppy too so hopefully this is smooth which looks to be the case.

As far as I am concerned Richard Burns Rally was the best WRC game to date but I enjoyed Colin McRae Rally 2 – 4 as well.
They were a little more accessible than RBR.
RBR: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aXH_gW2SPw0&feature...

I would like to play such a game in HD with an even more detailed damage model and driving physics but instead of that they only produce things like Dirt…

McRae is dead but the WRC spirit in the games died way before him. Too bad Burns is dead as well… if you’re a rally driver don’t make video games with your name on it: It will kill you!

I remember me playing CMR 2 over and over and over. I loved it but unlike others, I find Dirt (duh) much better looking.

I do however find the most realistic rally game to be RBR. Wish they would make a second one. :(

The devs who made RBR disappeared not long after the game was finished. Such a shame.

I'm keen on knowing how GT5's rally mode will play out...
