Our guys over in Los Angeles just uploaded this first gameplay video of Forza Motorsport 4 from the Showfloor, with more to come! Quality isn't so great, but it's still very watchable. 60 fps version coming soon. Update 2: Second video available.

That's because shift exaggerates it to hell and back.
Tornadoes and hurricanes don't exist inside race cars.
You have never been in a proper race car have you? It's not like driving 100 mph down the motorway race cars have very hard suspension setups for race tracks and you feel every bump and corner.

- The world doesn't blur above 60 mph
- Wing mirrors on most cars don't wobble around as if held on by elastic bands
Partly tongue-in-cheek, I wish them to keep the Shift nonsense out of this game, but alas we have been told 'hollywood effects' are in, lets hope they can be turned off/toned down for some of us more 'discerning' racers ;)
I don't drive, let alone race in real life. But certainly the cockpit experience in F3, just didn't seem right at all. There was little separation from the head you were looking through and the car itself; hence this kind of stiff lifeless feeling.
They seem to have fixed the angle a good bit. Sound in the cockpit didn't seem right in F3 neither. Also being able to look into the corners by using the right stick to turn the drivers head, that just feels natural as hell to do for me. I hope stuff like that is added/improved.

The big problem with uncompromisingly realistic racing sims is that regardless of how realistic the graphics or physics get they'll always be significantly lacking in the immersion department. It's a problem with the medium, which can be improved by using a FFB wheel and pedals, a racing seat and a three monitor/console config but this kind of setup can be prohibitively expensive and even still will never get you all the way there. Alternatively, a developer can exaggerate certain aspects of the racing experience in an attempt to compensate for some of the limitations of said medium and improve immersion, IMO Shift 2 does this well.
The sense of speed, engine noise, cockpit view and this new track looks sublime!

What a gorgeous level! Wow- I want this game so much! I'm so impressed with the in car view and the new shaders! I thought for a while that we were watching the guy playing at an Xbox wheel- then I realized it was in the car with it all being game footage. Very nice!
What is that Turn [][][][] that came up both times he entered the tunnel? Anybody heard yet?

Didn't you have to cheat though by adjusting the camera in the multi-screen options? I remember the 3rd person view and bumper cam would also be affected and not in the best way...maybe I'm wrong? Can't really remember.
So yeah, that guy confirmed not all cars will have that level of detail. As expected mind you, but it'll be........uh, I don't know. We'll see how this thing turns out. At ~8:28

I wonder how many super detailed cars are part of the 'experience'
Game looks amazing and I have little doubt this will be once again the best racing game for consoles.
That clip of the "race mode" looks far better than shift as well, a sense of physics w/out the hollywood bullshit that made shift feel a little too childish.
Can't wait to see what new tracks are in the game.
