During yesterday's conference , Microsoft and Turn 10 announced that a sort of Forza Motorsport Kinect was in the making, a game we will call Forza 4 for now as it is presented as the next big thing in the franchise. Giving you the possibility to play without any kind of controller whatsoever, this 2011 title will also allow you to admire your cars just like in real life, walking around them, crouching to see the tires from up close, all this thanks to the magic of Kinect. Some images have even been released, apparently claimed to be in-game, but let's assume not many people will be fooled when checking them out: incredible lighting, ultra realistic shadows and scenery. Photorealistic, to say the least but credible?

Commented on 2010-06-15 18:45:11Playing without a controller? I'm not crazy, I don't drive a real car by just holding my hands out like some maniac trying to grab some lady's.... (or some other embarrassing stuff). I play the game with a steering wheel to get as near experience to reality. What are they gonna come up with next? Playing with my eyes closed? Sorry but this doesn't sell to me.
Besides, I don't know about you but not many people have enough space in their living rooms to 'walk' around a non-existing car. There's like one square meter space between my screen and the furniture.

On an Xbox360? You must be living in a dream world, i dont think we'll see in game cars with this much detail until the generation after next.
Trolling aside, if they plan to make the game like this it makes me think if they mean it for 360 or the 'next gen'. Still, don't be fooled. Just because it looks detailed, realistic and shiny doesn't mean it is technically demanding. My experience with modeling 3D has taught me that looks are indeed deceiving. I'd wait for an ingame footage. That's what always shows the true colors.

Not even the same ground texture or tires for goodness sake. The game even retained its cartoonish lighting.
Commented on 2010-06-15 20:24:22I wont believe anything turn10 release after their last 2 releases. It's safe to say FM2 and FM3 didn't look like the screenshots they released initially. Still good games though.
