Nice game though.
Nice game though.
i'm hoping they dont make this game too n00b friendly. i've been reading a lot about them simplifying the game, and making it more accessible and mainstream. that the past games have been hardcore, and that they want more people to be able to enjoy this game. which is understandable, i just hope it isnt at the expense of their core fanbase (looking at you splinter cell conviction). last thing i'd want in this game is there to be forced action sequences that you can't get out of via wits and cunning and instead HAVE to resort to guns and violence.
looks like it has a cover system too, which already has me slightly worried.

Love Agent 47.

- There's a system called Instinct, which costs "energy", which is is reloaded by Hitman actions like taking out somebody silently. Instinct gives 47 certain abilities, like a sort of X-ray vision, highlighting interactable objects or nearby guards and their patrol routes for a short moment or to get nearer to people without them noticing your disguise. This is to help players new to the series to act like an actual hitman. In higher difficulties these abilities are taken away from the player, so he has to play it as in the previous games.
- 47 is not a Prince of Persia, but did become more agile.
- The story will be more important than in previous games and there will be more of a Film Noir atmosphere.
- 47 can improvise more. He strangled someone with a cable that was lying around for example.
- The shooting mechanics have been improved and there now is a cover system. The journalists guess that Instinct might provide a Slow-motion mode.
Other than that, I agree with Korndog. I mean, I think accessibility isn't a bad thing at all, so long as you give the "hardcore" a proper experience. Accessibility should simply be a tool to get less capable/casual players to the experience without cheapening it for the hardcore.
The CGI trailer is basically everything Hitman is not about; he isn't supposed to be Jason Bourne. It's frustrating to see game developers(or perhaps it's just marketing) seduced by the latest "cool" action movements.
If this was really Hitman, at the very most, one of those guards would have been left sedated in a trash can. None of this fancy pants karate.
m. The journalists guess that Instinct might provide a Slow-motion mode.
I can deal with the cover system, but killing people to earn "energy" which gives you magical powers? Like Korndog said, as long as they keep this crap on the easiest difficulty and don't ruin the game for the series fans, it could still be alright. It does make me nervous when developers main focus is on "accessibility for casuals" though...

But if they've got the option to take most of these elements out then I'm happy lol
