Xbox 360

Lips was unveiled at Microsoft's press conference, and as expected it's a karaoke game but with the interesting feature of being able to use its own music (zune only?). Trailer inside.

Hmm, I'm looking forward to how they're gonna implement that custom music thing. Should be interesting...

I'm not sure, but her voice was absolutely grating. I was wincing the whole time she was singing, and it was all I could do to not perforate my eardrums with a nearby steak-knife.

That's why I asked. It's not the karaoke aspect that's cool, it's the ability to use any song you'd like. I was unaware Sony had been doing this for "6 years" and that M$(the "$" instead of an "S" is so fucking cool...I mean really, good job) are just copying them.

If they've got more tracks like that (Peter Bjorn & John - Young Folks) then I'll be happy for sure. Instant buy for me.

Duffy Rockferry, she's a neo-soul artist out the UK. The first time I ever heard her sing was on my girlfriend's iPod. "Mercy" isn't her best song but it's the one that launched her career.

Let's hope Sony don't announce any FPS games at e3, or we'll know for sure they're just copying MS! I mean, how dare they try to release a particular genre of game.. completely dispicable.

Finally, a singing game for me to buy. Ever since I first played Singstar, i've been waiting for a similar game to come for the 360.

*Looks at friends across the road*

Lads, we're having ourselves a sing-song!

lol what a bitch, first he tried to flirt with her, then she went along with it, then that other guy stole her mic and then she was totally hitting it off with him instead :D
Good name for the game though, and nice Zune spotlight there, trying to prevent the iPhone 3G from selling in the rest of the world due to it recently being released there ;>
Soo typical, but sure good luck :P

I didn't realise it was 2010 already. Time really flies by! Also I must have just imagined Konami's Karaoke Revolution the YEAR before Singstar was released. I must be psychic, lol!

How is this going to work with *any* Song?

Will the software use a matching service to bring up the correct lyrics for the mp3 that you're using? How will it know what the words are?!

Man, I think SEGA was first in Karaoke for Consoles (nut 100% Sure) !

There was a Karaoke (MEGA KARAOKE i think) for the Genesis/MEGA DRIVE Console.

Also there was a Karaoke (Dream Karaoke) for Dreamast (Y 2000)

And in 2002 or 2003 "XBOX Music Mixer" hit the market.
More than 1.000 Songs (all Genres!) are available on XBOX LIVE till 2007.

So: GO HOME!
