Thank you Kojima for making the charcater move faster and fluid and more fun to control, camera being spot on like MGS4 and shooting being like an 3rd person shooter and not awkward.

This will be my second MGS title i will get aside from MGS4, and thank god its finally Big Boss now, pure badass character!

PS. Having Kiefer "Jack Bauer" voice him, even better!

The main character you see here is called "the greatest soldier that ever lived" in MGS1 (PSX). Through "Les Enfants Terribles" project, clones were made of him: Solid Snake and Liquid Snake.

This is pretty much the core of wtf is going on. :D

is this still coming out on current gen? the game's a bit weird looking quality wise. the geometry looks a bit current gen (they're quite angular character models), and the IQ is a bit "eh", with jaggies all over the place. but its definately better then current gen. just missing the bells and whisltes of next gen.

i dunno. i'll be buying it though. it does have the potential to be incredibly boring though. when the demonstration itself needs to be fastforwarded a ton of times to get where he needed to go, you know something aint right. i predict LONG bouts of travelling.

My thought exactly, Red Dead Redemption comes to mind. I dont want to travel alot, but it depends what happens during the actual travel, is it dynamic enemy encountering and how will that be when the level is open how is sneaking past them gonna work?...etc.
So we need to to see more for sure.

The fast forwarding wasn't all that long at any point. Also, there's nothing wrong with traversal. Some people like poen worlds. It's not really up to you to decide that that "aint right." If you can hop in a vehicle, I imagine most of the traversal will be quick. Plenty of games just fade out "in the interest of time." And most open world games just start in an eventful sequence because you don't realy need to see how it's an open world in a press conference. But with MGS, being open world is a new thing, and it was important for them to show the nature and structure of the game world off. It would have been way too long if they had done it all in real time.
Also keep in mind that A) a lot of what they are doing with the engine has always shown really poorly in screenshots, and B) that this is an early next gen open world game with strong ties to the current generation of hardware, so you shouldn't expect Crysis levels of fidelity. In motion I think it looks great, and that's what really matters, the gameplay. Judging games on screenshots is how idiots get tricked into thinking that GT6 will look that sharp or whine about how games like this look. It rarely gets you anywhere but to the wrong side of the issue.

I also love how they would license a silly digital clock. The new iPod of the game maybe? Hahahahahah

I don't think still screens do this any favors. Looks much nicer in motion, however you can see it's using current gen assets. Doesn't matter, though. They are good enough. And what is that back shit growing out of Snake's dome?

Don't worry, even if you played all the other games you still would have about 100 different questions.
